Such is not the previously proclaimed Middle Way view. Therefore, the phenomena of samsara are not established there from the beginning, so it is established as self-nature nirvana. Thus, the Dharma that is realized and understood without obscurations is established as non-abiding nirvana. If it is not self-nature nirvana, then there is no possibility of establishing it as non-abiding nirvana. Therefore, non-abiding nirvana is emptiness, the ultimate truth free from elaboration, and samsara is the conventional truth of elaboration. These things are not established by their own nature, and are equal in emptiness. Therefore, samsara and nirvana are inseparable, conceptual thought and Dharmakaya are of one taste, bondage and liberation are equal, and afflictions are primordial purity and wisdom. These are spoken by the perfectly enlightened Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who dwell on the ground. As it is said: 'This itself is called samsara, this itself is called nirvana. Having abandoned samsara, there is no nirvana elsewhere.' And: 'There is no difference between samsara and nirvana. There is no difference between nirvana and samsara. Wherever the limit of nirvana is, that is the limit of samsara. There is not even the slightest difference between the two.' And as Je Gampopa said: 'Grasp tightly that this conceptual thought that grasps at characteristics is the Dharmakaya.' And as Khro Phu Lotsawa Jampa Pal said: 'If you understand one Dharma from the depths of your heart, all suffering is happiness, all samsara is nirvana, all conceptual thoughts are Dharmakaya, all afflictions are wisdom, all grasping and being grasped are non-dual, all views are realization. In the sky without acceptance or rejection, calculate cause and effect like a dream.' And so on, appearing limitlessly, then all the Dharmas of samsara and nirvana are not truly existing things, but are false. If they are not established there, then how can the six karmic appearances of the six types of beings, and the six different cognitions of things, be truly existent? Therefore, you Middle Way followers, although you consider all things that have function to be true, if you were to select a truly established thing to be refuted, and a true Dharma to be known, you would not find it. Even if you could find it, you would have to refute that true establishment.

What is the mantra that torments more than the great chronic disease of clinging to things as real, saying "So"? Therefore, the karmic appearances of the six realms cannot be established as true, which has already been stated in "Intent One, Chapter Six," so please refer to it there. Regarding the key point of this treatise, Tanak Gochenpa said: The venerable master Chandrakirti, when dividing the object into true and false based on conventional truth and relying on terminology, also divides the subject in the same way. In general, when the terminology of any one of the six realms is taken as a basis, the object and subject of that realm are both true in terms of terminology. And on that basis (221a), the object and subject of the other five realms' perceptions are established as non-existent in terms of terminology. Here, the Teacher, the Complete Buddha, having shown the manner of attaining enlightenment in Jambudvipa, then turned the wheel of Dharma, compiled the scriptures, and composed treatises explaining the meaning of the teachings, all of which were done based on the human support. Therefore, the human way of seeing is true in terms of terminology. And on that basis, the way of seeing of other beings is established as untrue, just as water is in a river where water flows, and both its object and subject are true in reliance on terminology. And the other ways of seeing, such as pus, etc., both the object and subject are not true even in terms of terminology, which is the key meaning. If one connects the beginning and end of the master's treatise and commentary and looks at them, there is nothing that one will not understand. This passage seems to have been written down and then carved into a printing block. That explanation is based on thinking about the recurring conventional truth as the focus of the thought of "true or untrue in terms of terminology," and that is why it was said. Saying that is like clearly singing out "The goods are all here!" If your first point is summarized as the meaning of the words, it will become like this: When the terminology of any one of the six realms is taken as a basis, the object and subject of that realm are both true in terms of terminology, because on that basis, the object and subject of the other five realms' perceptions are established as non-existent in terms of terminology. This statement is an admission of what the great scholar Chandrakirti (221b) refuted. Because that master refuted that, based on any one of the six realms of beings, the conventional object and subject of those beings are also true in terms of terminology. That kind of truth is truth.
