The object is of a false nature, because it is an object, like the object of a dream. Furthermore, afflictions and purification are not existent without other power, because they are without support, like a garment of tortoise hair. Similarly, for applying the example of a mirage, etc., whatever answers are made by this proponent of consciousness-only, all of them are seen by the wise Prasangika Madhyamikas as being the same as the proposition, without the ability to establish, therefore they are meaningless, and it eliminates all disputes that assert the existence of consciousness-only, because relative to the consciousness of dreams and mirages, etc., it is not possible to establish emptiness of meaning and that the object is of a false nature, and relative to non-deluded consciousness, because it is consciousness, and other-power, etc., are also the same as what is to be established. Secondly, the Buddhas have not taught that anything exists at any time. There is no harm from scripture in establishing the non-existence of consciousness, because the perfect Buddhas have never taught that things exist in any place, time, or circumstance, such as the aggregates, elements, and sense bases. As it says in the Lankavatara Sutra: The three realms are only designations, in reality there are no things. The nature of designated things is speculated by speculators. There is no self-nature and no consciousness-only, no alaya and no thing, bad children speculators, like corpses, therefore these are designated. Thus it is said. The Mind-Only proponents, among the three natures, say that the nature of other-dependent things is emptiness through the gate of one-without-one emptiness, but this is not saying that there is no mistaken emptiness, because, Great Wisdom, one-without-one emptiness is the worst of all emptinesses, you should abandon it. Because it is said like this. Its meaning changes here, such as saying, "Cow-dharma, you do not exist, because you are not a horse," this is unreasonable, because although a cow is empty of a horse, it is not empty of its own essence, so this dharma is not emptiness and remains. In the Sutra of Meeting Father and Son, the classification of dharma-possessors, and how their own real nature is empty, can be known from the commentary. Third, all three are without birth, and not

Two kinds of harmful statements. The first is: Yogis, through the oral instructions of the guru, see the ground filled with skeletons, and there they also see that all three do not arise, in order to show the reason for wrong thoughts. If it is thought that without an object there is no knowledge, then when yogis rely on the oral instructions of the guru (༢༡༨ན) to meditate on impurity, what is it that they see the ground pervading the edge of the ocean filled with skeletons? There they also see that it is only an appearance due to conditions, and that all three, object, faculty, and consciousness, do not arise, because the samadhi is not by the power of true mindfulness, but by the power of wrong thoughts, as the scriptures show. The second is: How are the objects of your sensory consciousness? If such impure thoughts also change, then in that same object, others who are focused will also realize it, and that will not be false. Just as yogis see, in that object, others who are not yogis who want to see skeletons, etc., will also realize it, because the object of the mind that meditates on the impurity of skeletons, etc., is also true. For example, when you look at the object of your sensory consciousness, such as a vase, when you look at that object, one of them will give rise to the appearance of eye consciousness, just as others will also arise. If you admit it, because of that admission, the samadhi will not be false, not true mindfulness. The fourth is: Similar to having blurred vision, the thought of flowing water as pus for pretas is also the same. Just as for those with blurred vision, in the confused appearance, both object and consciousness appear to exist, but in the unconfused appearance, both do not appear to exist. Similarly, for the Ganges and other flowing waters, the thought of pretas as pus is also because in the confused appearance of being defiled by karma, it seems that both the object and consciousness that appear as pus exist, but in the unconfused, that is, undefiled appearance, both do not appear to exist. This represents the defilement of stones, wood, and eyes, etc., by the cause of mantras (༢༡༨བ), and the appearance of illusory horses and elephants, etc., for all phenomena arising from causes, it depends on what cause is assembled or defiled.
