At that time, how does it transform into the samadhi called Jewel Lamp? Similarly, other samadhis do not transform without thought, because they are the nature of self-awareness and not the emptiness of matter. Moreover, it says there: "The self-awareness, other-awareness, everything, the supreme person who benefits all, is like the one who transcends all, the supreme lord of knowledge and the knowable." In particular, the minds and wisdom of the Buddhas are said to be the objects of the minds of all sentient beings, and they are said to hold all aspects of things, but there is no mention of being without aspects. There it says: "The vajra of the mind of the Vajradhara abides in the entire nature of the minds of sentient beings. Like a stainless jewel, that which holds things is the wisdom vajra." This is also found in the commentaries on the glorious Ten Bhumi Sutra. In accordance with this, King Indrabhuti, in the Siddhi of Wisdom, says: "If both true aspects and false aspects exist in meaning, then the entry of omniscient wisdom is impossible (p. 23)." To prevent this, each chapter was composed, especially to prevent the aspectless, as it is said: "How is the aspect established by reason? After completely rejecting the aspected, the aspectless itself is not established. Thus, it is declared. If even without aspects, the wisdom is conceived to change, then with aspects and without aspects, by what knowledge are all reasons? The omniscient one does not have that, wisdom is called conceptualization. Since all aspects are not seen, it will become material." And so on, it is widely proclaimed in the vast scriptures of mantra. In particular, Acharya Shantipa composed a treatise called the Madhyamaka Ornament to establish false aspects as Madhyamaka, and proclaimed that all the views of mantra are in accordance with this, but it was refuted by the great Acharya Maitripa, and this great Acharya extensively composed the Dharma cycles of Amanasi. In particular, to prevent those who think that false aspects are Madhyamaka, he composed a treatise called the Ten Realities. There it says: "Desiring to know the Tathagatagarbha, it is neither with aspects nor without aspects. Without being adorned by the words of the Lama, the Madhyamaka is only mediocre." Therefore, by the way, that school is not suitable for Madhyamaka.

After speaking, if it is emphasized that the wisdom of Mahamudra cannot arise solely from formless knowledge, then how can a view arise from the establishment of true wisdom? The commentator Padmasambhava says in that commentary, "Among them, the term 'with form' holds the views of the Sutra school and the Yoga school. The so-called 'without form' also refers to the Vaibhashika and the Yoga school, and these schools summarize the views of 'with form' and 'without form.' A person who wishes to know Suchness should not accept it, because both of them acknowledge self-nature, and because they cannot withstand examination, they are separated from the nature of Suchness." Also, it says there, "The so-called 'with form' and 'without form' are merely not accepting the views of the Yoga school, because they also acknowledge the Suchness of the nature of emptiness of the object of grasping and the grasper. If one acknowledges having self-nature, then there is no Suchness of the nature of selflessness, so the manifested Mind-Only is also merely provisional. As Nagarjuna said, 'All these are Mind-Only, those that the Able One spoke of, are to dispel the fear of children, that is not Suchness.'" And so on, extensively explained. Those who speak of false appearances, mistaking them for the profound meaning of mantras, have already been refuted by teachers who have attained union without studying in the holy land, so it is sufficient to stop the elaboration. Furthermore, from the intention of the secret mantras and the commentaries on the intention, the meaning of false appearances is not established in Madhyamaka, and if it is not established there, then the profound meaning of the mantras cannot be obtained, and the ocean of reasoning is extremely vast. Here, regarding the way of attaining Buddhahood through the two great paths of Sutra and Tantra, here in China and Tibet, some people think that there is no difference between the basis from which one practices and the basis-result that is achieved, but there is a profound difference in the path by which one practices, whether it is superior or inferior, and whether one can achieve it quickly or not. And among the two views that there is no difference in the basis, but there is a difference in the path, and that the power of the difference in the path causes a difference in the result, the basis
