He has determined that all the gains and slanders that have been fabricated are not established by their own nature. Therefore, all the distinctions of existence and non-existence of all the phenomena of elaboration are stated here only to suit the inclinations of the beings to be tamed, and are merely following the statements of the world. This itself also distinguishes the difference between the Prasangika and Svatantrika Madhyamaka. The Svatantrika Madhyamaka school follows the world by acknowledging that the standard of measuring right and wrong, which is recognized as valid in the world, is established as valid in conventional truth, and thereby negates the self-nature of things. The Prasangika school, on the other hand, says that even the standard of measuring right and wrong, which is recognized as valid in the world, is not established as valid in conventional truth, but merely follows the statements recognized in the world, and when arguing with the world, it follows the world by distinguishing the occasions, and thereby negates the self-nature of things. This statement does not conflict with the interpretation of the Kagyu Dagpo tradition. Refuting the Mind-Only School's View The second part is divided into: the aforementioned view and the refutation of that view. The first part is divided into: establishing the meaning of the scriptures and thereby showing one's own tenets. The first part is divided into: the reason why the prince realizes the three realms as mind-only, and explaining the reason for knowing even without external objects. The first part is: Without an object of grasping, no grasper is seen, Therefore, one can well realize the three realms as mind-only. The Bodhisattva who abides in wisdom, Can realize that very mind-only nature. Those who proclaim Mind-Only cannot tolerate the views expounded by the Madhyamaka school, so in order to eliminate their intention to establish their own fabricated tenets, it is stated here that the Bodhisattva of the sixth ground, who abides in the practice of Prajnaparamita (Perfection of Wisdom), can realize the suchness of the ultimate truth of all phenomena as mind-only, because he realizes that the mind has no object of grasping, and therefore he does not see the grasper related to it. These three realms are merely consciousness devoid of external objects. Due to long-term habituation, one can thoroughly realize the consciousness that is free from the grasped and the grasper, reaching an inexpressible state of self-awareness. The second part is: Just as when the wind stirs the ocean, Large waves arise from it, Likewise, the all-ground, the seed of all.

In the activity. One's own ability only produces a mere consciousness. If it is meaningless and only consciousness, then how does the consciousness of objects like form arise? Just as the wind blows, the great ocean produces waves of various sizes due to conditions, similarly, all the seeds of all defiled dharmas, called the Alaya-consciousness, have entered from beginningless time, continuing momentarily, the habit of clinging to the apprehended and the apprehender fully matures, thereby obtaining the entity of self, which is constantly ceasing. The difference of habits in the Alaya becomes the cause of the arising of consciousness related to its own form and subsequent, due to the condition of the full maturation of its own ability, only an impure other-dependent consciousness arises, and children discriminate this as the apprehended and the apprehender. There is not even a little bit of the apprehended that is different from consciousness. For example, those who claim Ishvara as the cause say: "The cow is the cause of cow hair etc., Crystal is the likeness of water etc., The banyan tree is like branches etc., It is the cause of all sentient beings." Just as Ishvara is considered the creator of beings, The Alaya-consciousness proponents also say that the Alaya is the seed cause of the arising of all things. Ishvara is permanent, while the Alaya is impermanent, this is merely the difference. The second is: Therefore, what is the nature of the other-dependent? It becomes the cause of the existence of imputed things, It arises without an external apprehended object, Existence and all elaborations are non-objective, self-existent. The reason for establishing the existence of the Alaya is that the scriptures establish it in this way, therefore it is said: What is the nature of the other-dependent, it becomes the cause of the existence of imputed things of self and duality. This must be admitted, because it is desired as the basis of all networks of discrimination. Otherwise, without a basis for confusion, no one would be confused as self and duality. For example, mistaking a rope for a snake, mistaking earth etc. for a pot etc., does not arise in space etc. without relying on earth etc. Therefore, even if there is no external object, the discrimination of blue etc., has the nature of dharma. Your cause is established on the other-dependent, because you are the cause of defilement and purification.
