Saying that it exists. This teaching is of very profound meaning. It is for those who cannot understand it. If karma and result are without inherent existence, how can karma and result be established? In the Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra and others, it is said that the Ālayavijñāna is the basis for the distinction of the power of limitless dharmas, and that all seeds are the cause of the arising of all things like waves from the ocean. Is it completely non-existent? Some people's minds are attached to it, and considering that they merely believe in it, it is not completely non-existent. Because it does not conform to the literal meaning, it is said in that way for the sake of need, in order to make the trainees think that it exists. If it is said in that way for the sake of need, then what is its intention? It is only emptiness, and it is said that there is such a real thing as the Ālaya, in order to follow the nature of all things. Therefore, in which Sutras is it said that the Ālayavijñāna is the basis of karma and result, and that from the point of view of the trainees, there is also a person? As it is said in the Sutra: "O monks, the five aggregates are a burden, and the one who bears the burden is a person." Saying this, and saying to some people that only these aggregates without self exist, this teaching is for those who are attached to real things, and for those who cannot understand the very profound (204a) meaning of emptiness, in order to gradually guide them, it is said that the Ālaya and others exist as if they were literal meanings. Later, when the meaning of the scriptures is understood to be contrary to inversion, attachment to the Ālaya and others will also be abandoned. Teaching in this way does not produce faults, but rather produces qualities, because the Buddha's teachings need to be taught according to the eons and the faculties of beings. As it is said in the Sutra: "Whatever beings like, that should be said first, it cannot become a vessel for destroying the true Dharma." The second is: Even if one is free from the view of the aggregates, the Buddha, like teaching about "I" and "mine," Similarly, although all phenomena are without inherent existence, it is said that they exist, this is for the sake of guiding. In order to guide trainees into the supreme teaching, not only the Ālaya is taught, but even if all views of the aggregates are abandoned, the names of "I" and "mine" etc.

In order for you to understand the meaning of the world, the Buddha said that at that time, in that era, just like me and my teachings, things themselves do not inherently exist. In order to understand the profound meaning, the things from form to omniscience exist, and this is considered the true meaning. This applies to all citations and translations of teachings on the Four Noble Truths, the Two Truths, and the Three Natures, etc. Therefore, in the verses consistent with the views of the Eastern Mountain School, it is said: If the guides of the world do not conform to the world, then what is the Dharma nature of the Buddha, and no one will understand the Buddha. The aggregates, realms, and (204b) sources are considered to be of the same nature. Declaring these three realms, this is conforming to the world. The dharmas without names are completely proclaimed to sentient beings with inconceivable names, this is conforming to the world. Showing non-existence, entering the Buddha-nature, there is no non-existence here, this is conforming to the world. Not observing meaningful and meaningless, as well as cessation and the supreme meaning, declaring the supreme among speakers, this is conforming to the world. Without destruction, without arising, being equal to the Dharmadhatu, yet showing the burning aeon, this is conforming to the world. In the three times, the nature of sentient beings cannot be observed, yet the world realm is also shown, this is conforming to the world. So, what is the reason for conforming to the world? The Madhyamikas say that all dharmas conform to the minds of worldly people, and in front of each of the true and false minds, conforming to the clinging to the real, there are two truths. In this way, if we analyze with the reason of conforming to the minds of worldly people themselves, there will be contradictions here. Because the false truth, the truth does not exist in meaning, and the true truth cannot be established in meaning. Because the false truth or falsely true cannot be established. Therefore, the phenomena and non-phenomena of the nature of things from form (205a) to omniscience, which are included in the two truths.
