Ra. From the Lankavatara Sutra: Like the horns of a rabbit in the sky, and the children of barren women, though they do not exist, they are spoken of as if they do. Attachment to reality is the same. If someone asks: Does this not mean that these do not exist? Answer: There, only the attachment to existence (203a) is prevented, not the attachment to non-existence. For if existence itself is not established, then non-existence is also unreasonable. Second, therefore, the ripening of negative karma, the ripening of virtue, should be seen as coming from virtuous deeds. One who has the wisdom that good and non-good are empty will be liberated. It also prevents thinking about karmic results. This example not only shows that the ripening of karma is uncertain, but also that it is not determined separately. Because it is seen that hair, etc., although without self-nature, are certain. Although virtuous and non-virtuous actions are without self-nature, the unpleasant ripening, the cause of non-virtue, comes from black karma, that is, non-virtuous karma, not from virtuous deeds. The pleasant ripening, the virtuous deed, should be seen as coming from virtuous deeds, not from non-virtuous deeds. Any wise person who has the wisdom to realize that both virtuous and non-virtuous actions are without self-nature will be liberated. Because it is extremely difficult to understand how such selfless actions produce results, and how ripening is determined separately. Therefore, for those ordinary people who are very attached to karmic results, the Blessed One feared that they would cause the collapse of the mundane by slandering karmic results, so he said in their presence: The fruits of actions are inconceivable. It also prevents children from thinking about the relationship between karma and its results. Because the relationship between karma and its results, such as "this result arises from this cause," cannot be understood through the sight of this shore. Although karma and its results are not established in their own nature, they appear as infallible and individually true, which is due to the power of the wisdom of hearing, thinking, and meditating. If you think arbitrarily, (203b) you will not be able to determine the object of wisdom because you are attached to contradictions, that is, the object to be grasped is inconceivable. Second, it is divided into: teaching that what is said about the Alaya consciousness, etc., is provisional, and teaching that all existence spoken of by the Tathagata is definitive. First, the Alaya consciousness exists, the individual also exists, these aggregates
