If you think so, then that which is destroyed is not a destroyed thing, but a living thing, because it is said to be non-pervasive. If you admit it, then arising and ceasing are not contradictory in reality, because the destroyed thing exists in the nature of an object that does not contradict the living thing. Furthermore, is the destroyed thing not an unborn thing? The destroyed thing, the subject, is not an object, because it is unborn. Also, in which of the three times is the destroyed thing placed? If it is placed in the present and future objects, it is not reasonable, because the present and future objects are in the process of being destroyed and being born. However, destruction is the cessation of the process of being destroyed and being born, and after destruction, the opportunity for present and future objects is lost. If it is placed in the past object, it is not reasonable, because the past is empty of all functional activities. If emptiness is also considered an object, if you speak of objects as if you believe in the real existence of the three times, what can I do? Furthermore, if the destroyed object produces the result object in the present through the past, then the destroyed object, the subject, should be able to produce the result present object through the future. Although the destroyed unborn object does not exist, if it is fabricated as an object, then it is possible for such an object to be born there (page 199), because there is no obstacle to similarity. If you admit it, then the cause and effect of the producer and the produced do not need to be sequential, because of that admission. If you admit it, then because the sequence of cause and effect is spoken of in reverse, the nature of cause and effect will become inverted, so you, who hold the good intention of upholding the Buddha's teachings, this way of establishing the teachings seems very good. Furthermore, if destruction is an object, is it an object of that kind that has already been destroyed by the destruction of the object? Or is it an object that is the opposite of the destruction of the non-object? If it is the former, then destruction will become non-destruction, or destruction will not become an object. If it is the latter, then that kind of destroyed object, the subject, is a non-destroyed object, because it is an object that is the opposite of the destruction of the non-object. Furthermore, the destroyed thing that dwells between two non-destroyed objects, the subject, you are not suitable as any cause and effect of objects, because in front of you is the non-destroyed

That which has the nature of arising is your cause, and that which exists outside of you without decaying is not your fruit. If it is not established, the phenomenon of decay, you cannot become a decaying phenomenon, because both your generating cause and the fruit you generate are non-decaying phenomena. If it is not pervasive, your generating cause and the fruit you generate are non-decaying phenomena, your decay and (199b) decaying phenomena are the sound of "Bu," striking the great drum of the gods that shakes the three realms, and at the same time raising the great victory banner that wins from all directions. Furthermore, does the decaying phenomenon exist in the decaying phenomenon? Or does it exist in the non-decaying phenomenon? According to the second case, the decaying phenomenon, becomes non-decaying, because it exists in the non-decaying phenomenon itself. According to the first case, the decaying phenomenon, does not exist in the phenomenon, because the decay of the phenomenon is the exhaustion of the boundary of the phenomenon, so even if it exists in the phenomenon, it is only fabricated and spoken. If it is not pervasive, it is pervasive, the decaying phenomenon existing in the decay of the phenomenon is only the exhaustion of the boundary of the phenomenon, and not a place where other phenomena depend. For example, after the phenomenon of sound decays and disappears, vowels and consonants and other phenomena do not depend on it. The second point is that cessation or decay does not become a phenomenon, because the non-existent dharma such as cessation and decay is not suitable as a cause. The root is: "If there is cessation, what is the cause?". Furthermore, if the self-decay of a phenomenon or its existence is not established, then the non-phenomenon that depends on it cannot be established either. How can a decaying phenomenon become a phenomenon? As it is said: "If a phenomenon is not established, a non-phenomenon will not be established." And, in exhaustion and decay, the dharma of phenomena does not arise, because there is no arising in cessation and severance. As it is said: "There is no arising in exhaustion." And, exhaustion and decay do not become a phenomenon, because decay (200a) has no change. As it is said: "There is no destruction in exhaustion." And, in particular, it is most unreasonable for the arising decaying phenomenon to generate the phenomena of aging and death, as it is said in the Seventy Verses: "The twelve links of dependent origination, the fruit of suffering, do not arise."
