Because it has the edge of things being destroyed. If you admit, then the destroyed thing will not become the producer of the never-destroyed thing, because the destroyed thing of the destroyed thing will not become non-destroyed from destruction. This is not pervasive, if you think that the destroyed thing itself is born as a destroyed thing, and it is also established as producing other non-destroyed things, then it is not so, because oneself does not exist as a thing (198a), so it cannot make others become things. Moreover, for the continuous occurrence of things and dharmas, if destruction becomes a thing, and the non-destroyed thing exists without interruption, then the destroyed and non-destroyed things will occur simultaneously, or the non-destroyed thing exists with interruption, then the destroyed and non-destroyed things will occur alternately, whichever the case may be. Such a statement has never been heard before by any Buddhist proponent, so it must have suddenly appeared due to the power of the times. If destruction can become a thing, then the destroyed thing has the edge of destruction, and its destruction is also a thing, so the thing of one instant of destruction, like what the Vaibhashika school obtains, will be imagined as an infinite entity, and must be explained through imputation. Even if you say that, what else is needed besides the false karma of changing concepts? Also, because the destroyed and non-destroyed things occur alternately, the non-destroyed thing will occur interruptedly between the previous and subsequent causes and effects, if you admit that, then the previous and subsequent causes and effects of the destroyed thing will also occur interruptedly, if you admit, then it is impossible to establish the thing of cause and effect in name, because the causes and effects are inconsistent, so it is interrupted but said to be the cause and effect, this is just attachment, it is impossible to become the cause and effect. If you admit, then what fruit do you have for slandering all things of cause and effect? Also, the death of the father will also become the cause of the son's birth (198b), because destruction is the thing of sentient beings' death, which is the cause of the arising of ignorance, the same is true here. If you admit that, what will happen? Also, is the destroyed thing an unborn thing, or a born thing? It should not be a born thing, because it is the nature of destruction. Not pervasive.
