It is unreasonable! Then, the teachings of those self-claimed schools that accept the self should be the teachings of the Teacher. If that is not the case, then those schools should not be their own schools, and those schools are also the teachings of the Teacher who expounds the tenets of the Hinayana Sarvastivada and Sautrantika schools. When it is said like that, Redawa says: Those who speak of the self are considered to have become outside of the Buddha's teachings, because the Buddha's teachings are well distinguished by teaching non-self. Therefore, those who speak of the self are not the expounders of the Teacher's tenets either. Then, how are all those schools included in the Tathagata's teachings? The Tathagata's teachings are well distinguished by pure discipline and pure view, therefore, all eighteen schools are included in the Buddha's teachings because the higher training in discipline (185b) has not been lost. Among them, those who do not possess pure views are not the expounders of the Sugata's tenets, because different tenets are well distinguished by different views. In this way, the eighteen schools possess pure higher training in discipline, and the four major tenet systems possess higher training in wisdom. Therefore, those schools that speak of the person are included in the nominal Buddhism because the higher training in discipline has not been lost, and because they have fallen from the higher training in wisdom, they are indeed also outsiders. Thus, to the consequence of stating doubts about the extreme (inference), and to the first reason, by distinguishing, the answer is given that it is unestablished and non-pervasive, and to the latter reason, without distinguishing, only the answer is given that it is unestablished. Even so, in reality, clinging to the person as substantially existent hinders the realization of non-self, so even if it has become outside of the Buddhist path of liberation, since it does not accept, as the outsiders believe, the nature of the self of the person as substantial and independent from the aggregates, it will not contradict the four seals of Dharma, and it is also established as one's own school and Dharma tradition. Merely entering one's own school and Dharma tradition does not pervade becoming the true teachings of the Teacher.
