And, the noble protector Nagarjuna and others examined the existence or non-existence of inherent existence. This was done from the perspective of worldly conventions that engage with knowable objects through terminology. It was not that they examined the existence or non-existence of inherent existence in a dharma like the horns of a rabbit or the child of a barren woman, which are non-existent as knowable objects. (181b) It was not done because there was no need to do so. In particular, the truly established that is the object of negation of the sign that Tsongkhapa asserts is not a nature or inherent existence even in the appearance of either of the two truths, or from the perspective of worldly people. Therefore, because the self-nature of such a thing is empty, the self-nature of the two truths is not established as empty. Just as the non-arising of a rabbit's horn does not cause the non-arising of a sprout, and the child of a barren woman does not have life, so the person given by the gods does not lack life. Moreover, according to your view, the term "inherent existence" should only be established as the true establishment of the way of abiding of the self-nature of the object itself. The term "non-inherent existence" is only used to refer to the fact that the way of abiding of the self-nature of the object itself is not established as true. The sign is accepted, and the pervasion is established by the world. If you assert this, then truly established dharmas should exist in knowable objects. Because whatever exists in knowable objects as the self-nature, characteristics, and essence of the two truths, and one's own system, is established by valid cognition, whatever is inherent existence is pervaded by true establishment. If you accept the aforementioned view, then in the conventional, the effect of actions that is established by valid conventional cognition, is unfailing, and exists without being harmed by reasoning, that thing, as the subject, should be permanent. Because that kind of thing, the part that performs a function, is not the object of negation of the sign in both truths by Madhyamaka reasoning. If it is not so, then because valid conventional cognition has established its existence, the annihilation of non-existence will not be seen. If it exists or is permanent, it will not be non-existent or annihilated. The sign is accepted, and the pervasion is established by the world. If you assert this (182a), what will happen? Furthermore, wherever a thing exists as established by valid cognition, and is truly non-deceptive in itself, then that thing, as the subject, the phenomena of dependent arising, like illusions, should cease continuously. Because the cause of the conventional valid cognition, the artificial cause of the non-true self-nature, causes the artificial, non-deceptive result of the phenomena, even in the conventional, falsehood will not occur, so the cause of the conventional valid cognition
