0 N) The meaning of arising from karma. It is not explained according to the view of the Prasangikas, and he says, "What he refutes is what he accepts." Secondly, although it is free from elaboration, the way in which it appears as cause and effect is not contradictory. This shows that it is free from permanence and annihilation. The first is: Things are empty, such as images, etc., which depend on the assembly, and are not unknown either. Just as there, from the emptiness of images etc., the consciousness of that appearance arises. Likewise, although all things are empty, they also arise from emptiness. If there is no arising by its own nature in the two truths, then how do the natures of arising etc. appear in the world? If arising etc. appear in the world, then in the world, in the two truths, arising etc. are established as truly existent, which is very contradictory, so it is said. What is to be shown is that things are empty of their own nature, such as images and illusions, etc., which arise depending on the collection of causes and conditions such as mirrors and faces, branches, stones, and mantras. The objects of perception are also not unknown in the world. The result is not self-evident, but appears like a result, and although it is established depending on causes and conditions, the causes and conditions are not self-evident. Just as in mirrors etc., the cause of the perceived conditions, images etc., is empty of its own nature, and from there the result of the object-possessor, consciousness, arises as the appearance of the image. Therefore, both cause and effect are not of their own nature, just as an emanation arises from an emanation. In the Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness, it says: "For him, the Tathagata's emanation is empty, what need is there to speak of an emanation by an emanation?" Likewise, all false examples such as illusions should be understood in this way. Similarly, all things such as form, although in the state of cause (180b) and effect being non-different, they are empty of their own nature, but from the emptiness of their own causes and conditions, the result of emptiness of their own nature will also arise in the world of mere terms, so it is said. Therefore, in the Commentary on the Mind, it says: "In short, from empty dharmas, empty dharmas arise. The Victorious One taught in conventional truth the agent, action, and experiencing of results. Because external

Origination is also like that, arising from the assembly, like the sound of a drum and a sprout, it is regarded as a dreamlike illusion. All phenomena arise from causes, and there is no slight contradiction to this. The cause is empty of its own nature as a cause, and it is understood as unborn. Thus. Thus, knowing that the cause and effect of the phenomena of images are without inherent existence, what wise person would fixate on objects such as forms, etc., which appear as if cause and effect that are not established are established, and generate a definite understanding that they possess inherent existence? Although they appear to exist, they are unborn by nature. As it is said: Just as in a perfectly clear mirror, how an image without inherent existence appears, so understand the trees and all phenomena. Thus it is said. Secondly, because there is no inherent existence in either of the two truths. They are neither permanent nor annihilated. Those phenomena of dependent origination are neither permanent nor annihilated, because there is no inherent existence of their own nature in either of the two truths. Like an image. Therefore, other than this, we should ask the great Tsongkhapa and his followers: In your own system, you establish the nature and characteristics of the two truths very well. If so, even if you say that they have characteristics and inherent existence, in the end you are only talking about views, and you have moved away from them in your mind, so you have abandoned the profound meaning of emptiness, which is free from all extremes of permanence and annihilation. All phenomena of the conventional are conventionally accepted as existing as established by name and concept. The ultimate truth is established as unreal and selfless by valid reasoning, and therefore it is accepted as existing in the ultimate sense. Thus, the root texts and commentaries of these treatises, the tenets previously established, will become accepted as your own tenets, because you have accepted inherent existence in both of the two truths. In the conventional, you accept the inherent existence of existence, and in the ultimate, you accept the inherent existence of non-existence. To this, inherent existence is not accepted, inherent existence only refers to the object being truly established in its own position and independently. Merely establishing the existence or non-existence of the two truths as inherent existence or self-nature does not become an acceptance of inherent existence. Thus it is said. Buddha, perfect in the two truths.
