and any collection must acknowledge the existence of the vase. If so, even the Vaibhashika and Sautrantika schools do not accept that coarse things like vases can be analyzed by reason, so how could the Madhyamaka school accept it? Individual atoms cannot form a vase, because the smallest particles cannot truly constitute coarse things. Some, like Vasubandhu, say that the consciousness arising from other causes and conditions that are not established by their own nature is considered the ultimate truth, and the external objects are the grasped objects of the completely imputed, as well as the nature of things, and the mind that grasps differences, and the perfectly established nature that is empty of the grasping arising from consciousness, is the momentary consciousness of the ultimate truth, as well as cause and effect, one and different, etc., and like impermanence, it cannot be said to be the same as it and other than it. All the phenomena of consciousness that appear from form to omniscience in the other-powered nature are empty of the completely imputed grasping and grasped, but the self-nature of the other-powered nature is not emptiness from the beginning. To assert this way is not to have liberation, as it says in the Four Hundred Verses: "Not empty, not having emptiness, nor seeing emptiness, Nirvana is theirs, as the Buddhas said, wrong views do not escape suffering." And as it says in the scriptures: "The view of emptiness is all dharmas, the Victorious One said to be able to liberate, whoever sees the Dharma of emptiness, (174b) the Victorious One said that they cannot be cured." Because of this. The meaning of the second quote is easy to understand. The meaning of the first quote is that for external objects, etc., which do not exist even in name, like the non-existent horns of a rabbit, the complete annihilation that is established by conceptual thought is not able to establish emptiness. Emptiness is the dependent dharma that appears relative to non-emptiness, and it is distinguished by the dharma of dependent arising that is not established in that way, so that emptiness is understood, therefore emptiness must be understood in the world. For example, the face of an image is only an appearance, and the self-nature of the face is emptiness, so the image is called the self-nature of the face is emptiness, I think so. If it is not so, for permanent dharmas and annihilation of non-existence, because they are separated from correct wisdom, they will not be understood as the Dharma of emptiness. Therefore, such annihilation emptiness

Since it does not possess anything, the statement that all things that are mere consciousness are emptiness empty of imputation, that it is neither the same nor different from itself, but exists therein, is untenable. If it were established in that way, then it would be reasonable to say that the emptiness empty of a vase made of rabbit horns for a golden vase, like the impermanence of the golden vase, is neither the same nor different, but exists therein. Those who assert that things exist in name say that whatever exists as a thing is not empty of its own nature. Those who say that what does not exist as a thing, the knowable, has never established its own nature as the basis, and that it is the meaning of emptiness (175a), then that is the side that asserts that things are permanent and non-things are annihilated. They have not turned their minds even slightly towards the profound nature of emptiness. If whatever exists and does not exist as a thing exists and is established in meaning, then what will emptiness become? Because it is not empty from it, where does it exist? If you are not afraid of the phenomena of permanence and annihilation in meaning, then your devotion to the dharma called emptiness is merely pleasing the gods. In particular, if you think that the emptiness of non-things possesses things, then if that is the way that non-existence possesses existence, then is the possession that possesses in that way a thing or a non-thing? Or is it something that possesses both existence and non-existence? If you say that, then it is like the Lokayata, shameless in its assertions. Therefore, in this land of snow (Tibet), there are also some who claim to be Prasangika Madhyamikas, and they think that when a vase exists, the non-existence of the vase without inherent existence is the same as the existence of the vase with inherent existence, so how can non-existence exist in existence? If non-existence and existence become one nature, then how can non-existence become non-existence? You should think carefully. Saying "Attain Nirvana," these Cittamatrins and others who assert the nature of the Alaya-vijnana, if they do not cling to the place of bad rebirth, will attain Nirvana. If so, then by accepting real Nirvana, for those who assert that things are real, if there is no self-nature (175b) Nirvana, then there is no opportunity for non-abiding Nirvana to arise, which shows that hope is fruitless. Third, divided into: Eliminating contradiction with conventional, and what is seen and
