What is desired of the path? Therefore, one should engage in the activities of the noble path. So it is said. Some think that this scripture shows that worldly sense faculties are not valid cognizers, but it is not a scripture that shows that sense consciousness is not a valid cognizer, because here the common basis of matter and valid cognition is distinguished, and thus it is shown that it cannot be established. If you think so, you have not understood. If that were the case, then the mind would also not be a valid cognizer, because there is no scripture that shows matter. Because it is already included in the words and said (165b), according to your view, that scripture also has the fault of saying that the mind is matter. We do not accept your inverted clinging in that way. If the consciousness of the eye, etc., of worldly people is said to be a valid cognizer, then it is also said to arise from the object, form, and the co-emergent condition, the sense faculty. If those are not shown by scripture in their own nature, then how could the valid cognizer of consciousness, which is the cause of those, be the result of virtue and non-virtue in its own nature? Because if the cause is blocked, the result will not arise, so it is thought. In terms of the meaning of the words: the great Eastern Tsongkhapa and his followers, and most of the later consequentialists who stand on that side, and those who say, "Because it exists in name, it can establish existence," and those who think that dependent arising is not separate from the eight extremes such as arising and ceasing, and those who think that all phenomena are with elaboration in conventional truth, so it can establish with elaboration, and in ultimate truth it is without elaboration, so it cannot establish without elaboration, and the two truths and empty and not empty, and conditioned and unconditioned, subject and nature of phenomena, etc., all dual phenomena exist separately in meaning, and in order to make that existence become the limit of elaboration, if measured by conceptual thought, then all phenomena of the two truths are like being established by reason and conventional valid cognition, and they are established as having true meaning without deceiving, so those who rely on inferior words, use the words "examining the meaning" to cause confusion in small minds, and those who say that those dual phenomena are equality, etc., do not conform to the meaning, so saying that is established as true from the object's own side, so it must be explained as equal in emptiness, thus adding (166a) additions and speaking, and holding the scriptures of definitive meaning as their own tenets according to the literal meaning and accepting them, and for all the scriptures of definitive meaning that do not conform to that, whether they are established as true and emptiness, and

and the opposite aspects, etc., all dharmas are empty of their own nature, and there is no self-nature, so it is said. If you say, "Oh, you should be upright, don't say it like the literal meaning," if you say that emptiness is emptiness, it will become non-empty, doubting like this. In short, starting from all the knowable dharmas of the Bhagavan, up to the twenty emptinesses and sixteen emptinesses, etc., all those pervasive emptinesses are well taught, some of them are accepted, and some are not accepted. If accepted, it would cause faults to the teacher himself, thus making a fair judgment on the words of the Sugata. In short, if you speak this Dharma, you must accept the three or four seals that do not violate the teachings. But this sect, no matter which sect of the Great and Small Vehicles you follow, is fine. On the contrary, they say that all dharmas are empty and selfless. For the innate wisdom of the world, sentient beings and dharmas, in their respective perceptions, have the nature established by the valid means that are not contaminated by temporary illusions. In any case of the two truths, they do not deny that I am real, but say that I am unreal. And even if there is no Dharma that can be proven to be emptiness, they still search for it, and searching cannot find it, this is the meaning of emptiness. Emptiness is free from elaboration, even so, because the object itself has not been established as a permanent reality, it is unreal, but emptiness as emptiness is the basis established. Emptiness and unreality, and there is reality there, unreality is real as unreality, therefore it prevents both the establishment of reality and reality. With the disguise of words, they deceive all those who have faith and perfect merits in profound emptiness, because speculative words have no meaning. And in order to deceive, they say that this Dharma cannot be understood unless it is deeply accumulated. They declare like this. This declaration is like a sign of death for those who want liberation, so it is said for them. According to that sect, no matter what they say, if you compare their attachment and the disguised words they express in words, you will have this idea: the views or speculations of the world that have not seen the reality itself become valid, while the saints are the opposite, and the foolish
