Especially, the Bhagavan based his teachings on the assumption that mundane phenomena are merely existent. In the world, the mind-consciousness, influenced by correct or incorrect thoughts, is known as valid cognition, distinguishing between truth and falsehood. However, in the context of contemplating reality, all of this is said to be non-valid cognition. But, regarding the notion that mundane phenomena are existent, not a single word is mentioned about the distinction between whether worldly intelligence is valid or not. If it were mentioned, then the teachers Nagarjuna and his spiritual sons, along with their followers, should have said so to fulfill its meaning, but they did not. Because you have not found even one clear and explicit verse to cite as evidence that they said so. Therefore, in the profound Dharma, only the words of Manjushri are cited as support, and nothing else. Therefore, the Lankavatara Sutra says: "All things exist, as children imagine. If they see it and it exists, then all is seen truly." And the Sixty Stanza Reasoning says: "As children imagine, if things were true, who would not want liberation from non-things?" (165ན) It is said. Furthermore, even if worldly valid cognition sees that, what is the use of relying on the noble path of hearing and discipline, which are part of the means? If that is the case, then what is the use of the noble path of hearing and so on? Because striving there, the result is not meaningful. What is it that worldly eyes and other valid cognitions recognize? If one recognizes in that way, liberation is sufficient by that alone, so there is no need for all other noble paths. Furthermore, if one doubts that worldly valid cognition sees that, but has not become a noble being because ignorance has not been abandoned, then the intelligence that has been made foolish by ignorance is also not valid cognition, because whatever object is not recognized by whatever subject, that is not valid cognition. Just as a non-jeweler does not recognize a jewel. Therefore, the Samadhiraja Sutra says: "The eye, ear, and nose are not valid cognitions, nor are the tongue, body, and mind. If these senses were valid, what use would the noble path be to anyone? Because these senses are not valid, the substance of their nature is indeterminate. Therefore, nirvana."
