What else can be done but to strive to delay? Similarly, the true clinging that holds that things that arise from causes and conditions are truly established there is said to be the ignorance of afflictive obscuration. If it is not the ignorance of afflictive obscuration, then the twelve links of dependent origination will not arise from it. It is not that it does not arise, because the Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness says: "Those things that depend on causes and conditions, To conceive of as truly existent, The Sage has declared to be ignorance, From this the twelve branches arise." Because it says so. Such a true clinging mainly obscures the attainment of liberation, so it is an afflictive obscuration; and the habit of that true clinging and the wisdom that clings to the aggregates as unreal like illusions mainly obscures the attainment of omniscience, so it is established as cognitive obscuration. As the Uttaratantra says: "Whatever is the conceptualization of the three spheres, That is considered to be the cognitive obscuration." Because it says so. Buddhas do not appear to have all conventional dharmas in all aspects, because they have fully awakened to all dharmas in all aspects. The activity of mind and mental factors has been completely reversed. Therefore, due to the power of being defiled by ignorance, whether afflicted or not, the Bhagavan spoke of two types of conventional truth and mere conventionality. Of these, what ordinary beings see as conventional truth is seen by the noble ones as false, merely a conventional appearance, and the emptiness of the nature of mere conventionality is the ultimate truth in the face of the noble ones' equipoise. Buddhas do not see anything other than the ultimate, infallible truth, while children only focus on the deceptive nature of conventional truth. Therefore, in the perfect Buddha, since both afflicted and unafflicted ignorance have ceased, both the conventional truth and the mere conventionality, which are the results, have disappeared. The key to this is that Jetsun Rendawa's teaching says: If the Tathagatas also have the appearance of objects such as form, then they have not abandoned delusion, because false objects appear. Like the consciousness of dreams and so on. If you say that although it appears, it does not become delusion because there is no true clinging, then it is like someone with cataracts seeing hair in the sky.

When seeing things like double moons, one doesn't become confused because there's no manifest attachment to them being real hairs or double moons, etc. If the impure appearances of earth, stones, and so on are due to ignorance, then why don't the Tathagatas see pure golden ground and immeasurable jeweled mansions, etc.? Because the self-appearance of wisdom (160b) arises in the unobstructed power, and because of that, they don't have delusion. But that pure appearance isn't established as true, because it arises from the roots of virtue such as aspirations and purifying fields, so it's interdependent arising. If those weren't produced from causes and conditions but were established by their own nature, then what about the outsiders? Snowflakes, Chinese incense, flowers, milk, yogurt, pearl-colored, like the shape of an umbrella held up, the Victorious Ones said that is liberation. Like wanting liberation to be like a white umbrella held up when transcending the three realms, this is the same as that teaching, so it becomes an outsider. Therefore, although the conventional doesn't appear to the Buddha, it's not contradictory that the Buddha knows all that is said and performs activities such as turning the wheel of Dharma. Because the cause of acting in that way, the interdependence of the accumulation of merit, the fruit of practicing correctly in the past during the time of the conduct of Bodhi, is not wasted. This is seen as a fair and well-spoken explanation for the side that believes the Buddha doesn't have the mind that measures conventional appearances. In the concluding letter written by Tana Go, it says: If the conventional truth is true, then existence doesn't pervade it; if the nominal truth is true, then existence pervades it. If it exists conventionally, then existence doesn't pervade it; if it exists nominally, then existence pervades it. Nowadays, many people follow each of their own whims, and although they agree on the surface, they are uneasy in their hearts. If you arrange the beginning and end of the Madhyamaka system, is there any other way to speak besides this? Please think carefully. Although there is not even a little bit of focus (161a), it is only written in words. What you said, 'If the conventional truth is true, then existence doesn't pervade it,' you said that thinking of the false conventional. What will happen from that? False conventional
