Ma. If it is said that it is not different, then it should also be said that it is neither different nor not different. As it is said in the Thirty Verses: Therefore, that nature arises from others, neither other nor non-other, it should be said like impermanence, etc. Similarly, the Compendium of Abhidharma, the Distinguishing Middle and Extremes, and Shantideva, etc., have repeatedly said that the two truths are neither one nor different, which contradicts your own admission that these sutras and treatises are the ultimate meaning of Madhyamaka, and that these teachers are qualified individuals of Madhyamaka. Tsongkhapa and others believe that the nature of the two truths is one, which also contradicts the previous sutras and treatises as a measure. The Commentary says: If wisdom is very pure, if the characteristics of phenomena and the characteristics of ultimate reality are not different, then all ordinary people will become those who see the truth. Just being ordinary people, they will also become those who attain accomplishment and the bliss of unsurpassed nirvana. They will also become those who manifest unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Similarly, therefore, if one understands the characteristics of phenomena as the characteristics of complete affliction, then the characteristics of ultimate reality will also become the characteristics of complete affliction. And so on. Therefore, if there is no difference between the characteristics of ultimate reality and the characteristics of all phenomena, then the characteristics of all phenomena will also become undifferentiated. How do yogis see phenomena, (143b) how do they hear, how do they distinguish, how do they know, from where will they not seek ultimate reality? And so on. This also contradicts the sutras and treatises combined with many previous examples. Furthermore, if the nature of the two truths is one, then conventional and ultimate become one, and all phenomena will become the fault of being undifferentiated and without distinction, etc. Ultimate reality and conventional reality become one, and ultimate reality will become the fault of being completely afflicted. Some say that the nature is one in conventional reality, conventional reality

To say that things are different in nature in conventional truth is also said after analyzing conventional truth with reason, so it does not escape all the previous faults. Some people say that both truths exist in reality, and that they cannot be said to be the same or different; others say that the nature of the two dharmas does not exist, which is suitable for the tenets of the naked ones and the Sthavira Nikāya, because they falsely say that things that are not established in reality exist, thereby causing others to have wrong ideas. In reality, both are established by nature, and if they are not of one nature, they must be of different natures, and if they are not of different natures, they must be of one nature, because one and many are mutually exclusive. As it is said in the Ornament of the Middle Way: "Apart from one and many, it is impossible for things to have other forms, because these two exist in mutual exclusion." And as it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: "Apart from this, there is no other real existence." And "Apart from this, there is no other form." and so on, endlessly. Therefore (144a) Then, the things that those who say that things exist, the things that actually exist, and the things that do not exist that are derived from the existing things, and the existence and non-existence like this, whether they are two or not two, the three aggregates, etc., whatever is admitted, are all located in the four great extremes of saying that things exist and do not exist. To the realists who admit the existence and non-existence of reality, the Madhyamikas say: "If reality exists, then non-reality will not be non-existent; if non-reality exists, then reality will not be non-existent." To this side, there are many statements that contradict the commitment, such as it is said in the Refutation of Debate: "If the non-existence of self-nature itself is negated, then it will be established as self-nature itself." and so on. When saying this, even in the Madhyamika's own school, if reality and non-reality, etc., are not established in the two truths, then if reality exists, non-reality will disappear. In one's own school, even in dreams, one does not say, even if one does not dream, one says there, which is to those who say that others are unreasonable, with such a speaker's own language also harming other languages, repeating the narration there, it is unreasonable to say like that, thus refuting it. If the two truths of language and meaning are one, then they must not be different, and if they are different, then they must not be one, this is to any worldly person who thinks that the basis of the two truths is established, if that is the case, it will become like that.
