At that time, I dreamed that the statue in the chamber of the omniscient Konchok Lhundrup (dKon mchog lhun grub) of the Golden Temple of Ngor had collapsed. Later, during a great calamity, one of my students said that he dreamed that the head of a wonderfully radiant statue of Sachen (Sa-chen) had fallen off. Considering how Gurgyi Gonpo (Gurgyi mgon po) cares for me like an only child at all times, I suspect that in a previous life I was also someone who made special contributions to the teachings of the Sakya (Sa-kya-pa) school. It seems that in this life I should also be someone who benefits the teachings of the Sakya school. However, considering that the five poisons of affliction in my own mind are very coarse, there is no progress in the three aspects of hearing, thinking, and meditating, and I am very poor in the qualities of scripture and realization, no matter how I consider it, I am good for nothing, simply a mistaken manifestation of illusion. During the retreat, I ate a pill of accomplishment from the Kunzang Monlam (kun tu bzang po'i smon lam) revealed by Kongtrul Rinpoche (Kong sprul rin po che) every day and recited many aspiration prayers. Once, I dreamed that I had arrived in front of Je Lama Suryanatha (rje bla ma sūryའི་ mtshan can). Je (rje) gave me a radiant statue of Manjushri (Jam dbyangs) and a bottle of ink. I said, 'Please give me another blessing.' Je Lama Ngawang Shedrup Gyatso (Ngag dbang bshad sgrub rgya mtsho) said, 'Of my mind, speech, and eyes, the eye belongs to you.' Then he handed me an eye. I said, 'Then please give me Je Lama's (rje bla ma) rosary.' Je Lama (rje bla ma) gave me the hundred-bead of his rosary, which I understood to be a symbol. After the sixteen-year vow of practice was completed, in order to satisfy everyone's wishes, I gave a lot of Dharma teachings and listenings: the Lamdre (lam 'bras) teachings were completed nine times, the Dakini Blessing Guidance was completed twelve times, the Gongbo Drakdzong (mgon po brag rdzong) outer practice permission guidance was given ten times, the Gongbo five-deity mandala initiation was given three times, the Vajrabhairava (rdo rje 'jigs byed) Ra Lotsawa (rwa lugs) nine-deity initiation and the Ratse (rwa rtse) mind-holding guidance were given eight times. The Vajrabhairava (怖畏金刚) thirteen-deity initiation and guidance were given three times, the Tara (sgrol dkar) White Umbrella (白伞盖佛母) six-syllable permission guidance was given eight times, the Sadhana Samucchaya (成就法总集) was given once. In addition, at the request of each requester, countless Dharma items such as initiations, guidance, and transmissions were given. Even so, it was only to not interrupt the lineage and benefit the teachings and sentient beings. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I only hoped to be of some benefit to others. To those who listened to the Dharma, I offered help in terms of both Dharma and material things, with sincerity and without hypocrisy. In terms of activities, this monastery has a very magnificent main temple with thirty-six pillars. Inside, there is a three-story statue of Shakyamuni (stong mchog thub pa'i sku, Supreme Sage, the Able One) made of copper and gold. To the right of the statue is Dharma Lord Manjushri (chos rje 'jam pa'i dbyangs, Dharma Lord Manjushri), Sakya Pandita (sa skya paN chen, Sakya Great Scholar), and to the left is Vajradhara Kunga Zangpo (rdo rje 'chang kun dga' bzang po, Vajradhara Kunga Zangpo), both with two stories each, exquisitely crafted. In addition, there are many large and small representations of body, speech, and mind. In front of these, there are nine large bowls made from two Chinese silver ingots each, and one hundred small bowls made from ten silver srangs each. In addition, there are various kinds of offerings. There is also a protector's shrine with two pillars, and a Kanjur (bka' 'gyur, Words of Buddha) temple with twenty pillars. There are many rooms both upstairs and downstairs. It is said that we have recited one hundred million Mahakala (mahAkAla, Sanskrit, Great Black One) mantras and twenty million Shasana (shAsana, Sanskrit, Teaching) mantras. During these recitations, if I became lax in my practice, I would receive a sign telling me to be more diligent; if my mind wandered, I would receive a sign telling me not to be distracted; if my mantra pronunciation was incorrect, I would receive a sign telling me to purify it. In general, I received many signs telling me not to be lax in the practice of the protector. I was often urged to walk the path of virtue. Once, on the way to Dege (sde dge), I stayed one night at the junction where the road to Chutron (chu dron) and Mantram (man tsam) goes to Aguzi (a gu zi). In a dream, I saw the body of Mahakala filling the entire sky, magnificent and glorious. His radiance caused me great oppression, but after a while, I felt a little better. Each time I saw a part of Mahakala's body, I would feel a wave of oppression. In short, I have written a rough history of my entire life up to now because my heart's son, the incarnate Jamyang Kunga Tenpai Gyaltsen ('jam dbyangs kun dga' bstan pa'i rgyal mtshan), repeatedly urged me, and I could not refuse his request, so I wrote this. It is very important that this secret conversation between us father and son is not heard by anyone. In short, although I do not have the qualities of learning and realization, I have generated some pure thoughts, have some correct understanding of the essential points of practice, and have been of some benefit to others in terms of Dharma and material things. All of these are due to the kindness of Dharma Lord Manjushri and Vajradhara. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
