He predicted that he would not stay long in this world, and slightly showed physical discomfort, indicating that he was about to pass away. After I arrived, I urged the other disciples to pray together, and we offered longevity prayers, requesting him to stay in the world. He agreed, saying that his condition had slightly improved and that he could stay for about two more years. However, if the place where the longevity prayer was offered was changed to another auspicious place, it would certainly be so, but since the longevity prayer had to be offered in this place, there was no complete certainty that he would stay that long. I am not very clear about what happened after this, but it is widely circulated in the local monasteries, and those who served him closely all agreed. I have recorded those certain statements in a very brief manner. In November of that year, before going from the monastery to the retreat house, he said to a few people around him: 'I am destined to die in the monastery. When I come back later, I don't know if I can still ride on horseback. Prepare the funeral bed.' When he was in the longevity hall in winter, he often told the attendants that he would not stay in this world for long and that he would go to Sukhavati from here. In particular, he had told many of us disciples a long time ago that he would go to Sukhavati and learn the Lamdre from the Sakya fathers and sons. At this time, one day, he said to the attendant: 'I have already obtained the Lamdre from Sakya Pandita, Sonam Tsemo Rinpoche, and Kunga Zangpo Vajradhara.' He also said such an amazing story of close transmission. After that, in February of the Snake year, he slightly showed physical discomfort, and on the first day of March, as he had said before, he was carried on a palanquin and returned to Tharlam Monastery. After that, the monks, disciples, patrons, and other faithful people of the monastery all prayed for him to stay in the world, but he said: 'Don't talk nonsense. In India and Tibet in the past, including the perfectly enlightened Buddhas, there were as many wise men and accomplished ones as the stars in the sky, and they all showed Nirvana. Especially from our own lineage, even the second Buddhas like Dharma Lord Jamyang Lama and Kunga Zangpo Vajradhara had an end to their lives. I am older than them, how can I live alone?' When people asked to perform rituals for him, he first said that it was the disciple's duty to perform rituals for the guru... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having accomplished the practice, he said that the great gathering was complete, expressing his joy. After two or three days, he said that now everyone should exhaust the ultimate of all scriptures. 'When I die, may the gentle protector, the Lama, the master of all scriptures, lead me to the realm of Sukhavati (Tibetan: བདེ་བ་ཅན་, Sanskrit Devanāgarī: सुखावती, Sanskrit Romanization: Sukhāvatī, meaning: Land of Bliss), and may I see the face of Amitabha (Tibetan: འོད་དཔག་མེད་, Sanskrit Devanāgarī: अमिताभ, Sanskrit Romanization: Amitābha, meaning: Immeasurable Light).' Recite this, and accumulate only that number. At Gato Samdrub Monastery, a student offered a painted image of the Three Longevity Deities. 1-125 Their monastery had built a large statue of Ngorchen Dorje Chang (Ngorchen Kunga Zangpo). They requested that he perform the consecration ceremony on the twenty-fifth day of the fourth month of the Hor calendar. He said, 'Haha, I will have gone to the next world by then.' To the students who came to visit from various places, he only gave teachings on impermanence and encouragement to do good, and returned the offering scarves to them, reciting prayers such as 'May the teacher and students never be separated, may we always be together.' Especially as he approached his passing, if someone had not been able to see him, he would say, 'Let them come before me,' and offer prayers for them. The attendant Kunga Chodrak, during the time of his illness, spared no effort in serving him. Therefore, the master himself said, 'Your offering of ten million mandalas is not as pleasing as your care for me this year during my illness.' He also said, 'If you have not accumulated serious sins, I will welcome you when you die and you can go to Sukhavati.' At that time, Khangsar Khenpo and Drau Pon Lama and others offered long-life prayers, but he only accepted them symbolically and did not fully agree to them. 1-126 In particular, regarding the offerings, he instructed the brothers Drau Behu Lama Tenzin Gyaltsen to use them for the passing-away offerings at Sa-Ngor, for the unfinished statue construction at Thar Lam Monastery, and for giving to his nephew Kunsang Tenzin, etc., consulting with the patrons and arranging everything in order. In general, he only spoke words that would not last long. Generally, during the time of his slight illness, he showed his illness greatly during the day in front of many people, but at night he sat upright and practiced as usual. To those who came before him, he showed his illness greatly to some, and not to others, and so on, as seen by others. When the doctors examined his pulse, they said the illness... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
