This person, called Orgyen Rinpoche Jamyang Chökyi Lodrö (O-rgyan Rin-po-che 'Jam-dbyangs Chos-kyi Blo-gros, Orgyen Rinpoche, Melodious Voice, Dharma Intellect), is indeed such a figure. As the venerable one (referring to the author's own guru) said: 'Dzongsar Khyentse (Rdzong-gsar Mkhyen-brtse) is also my guru. I have painted his image and placed him among the lineage gurus. He is also my main disciple, so I often pray for his long life, and you should do the same.' 'Holder of the lineage of all Buddhas of the three times, skilled in bestowing the feast of the Dharma of the three vehicles, the sole guide of beings in the three realms, Jamyang Chökyi Lodrö, we pray for your long life!' The venerable one repeatedly said to recite this prayer collectively. The supreme incarnation (referring to the author himself) also does so continuously with great devotion. Early on, when listening to the Lamdre (Lam-'bras), the supreme incarnation clearly knew in his heart that Guru Lama Sorum Kunle (Sgo-rum-pa Kun-dga' Legs-pa) was an emanation of Jamyang Chökyi Lodrö. When Guru Lama was telling the biography of Sorum, the supreme incarnation opened his eyes wide and said, 'Such a biography is truly inconceivable, difficult to imagine with a child's mind.' The supreme incarnation felt that Guru Lama knew the thoughts hidden deep within his heart. Therefore, the supreme incarnation offered the praise of the name 'Ngawang Kunle Yeshe Gyaltsen Palsangpo (Ngag-dbang Kun-dga' Legs-pa'i 'byung-gnas Ye-shes Rgyal-mtshan Dpal-bzang-po)' to Guru Lama. All these disciples, taking the study of the guru's biography as an example, maintain the source of benefit and happiness—the precious Dharma—for a long time through study and practice, which is truly an amazing thing. Not attached to worldly affairs, possessing renunciation and discipline; not attached to peace, generating the supreme mind of benefiting others; not attached to duality, realizing the inseparability of samsara and nirvana; I prostrate to the Vajra Holder who possesses these three! Through extensive hearing, cutting off external doubts; through thinking about the meaning, the scriptures arise as instructions; through unwavering meditation, accomplishing the inner interdependence; I prostrate to the crown jewel of the holders of the Tripitaka! Daring to undertake hardships, erecting the banner of practice; skillfully meditating on the profound meaning, attaining the warmth of realization; the fruit of practice manifested, accomplishing the great purpose of benefiting the teachings and beings; I prostrate to the incomparable guru! Perfectly complete with the qualities of the paths of the three vehicles, the kind guru who bestows the kindness of the three vows, the root guru who is the embodiment of the three refuges, I prostrate with body, speech, and mind! To the incomparable protector guru, with the fervor of unbiased devotion, praying day and night, I beseech you to continuously bless!

With reverence, visualizing all the accumulated merits of the three times—past, present, and future—as Samantabhadra's offering clouds, I offer them to the supreme and venerable Lama, so that both self and others may swiftly accomplish the two accumulations. Due to the power of ignorance, attachment, and aversion, whatever sins and transgressions I have committed with my body, speech, and mind, I deeply regret. With a remorseful heart, I confess and repent before you, the guide. Seeing myself plunged into the darkness of negative karma, I rejoice with joy and delight in whatever virtuous light others generate, without defiling it with jealousy or deluded thoughts. Protector, because you have attained the wisdom body, you have no obstacles in taming beings. Please continue to turn the *Wheel of Dharma* (chos kyi 'khor lo, Dharmacakra, Wheel of Dharma) in my experiences, dreams, and perceptions. Even though you demonstrate the manner of passing into *Nirvana* (mya ngan 'da' ba, Nirvana, Passing into Peace) in this world, your spontaneously accomplished activities are never interrupted. Please always abide, day and night, on the crown of faith of your devoted disciples. The venerable Lama has departed to a pure land, while I, burdened by negative karma, wander in the city of *Samsara* (khor ba, Samsara, Cyclic Existence). Unable to bear the suffering of my own negative actions, I cry out with a voice of longing. Look upon me with compassion! In all the states of this life, the next life, and the *Bardo* (bar do, Bardo, Intermediate State), watching over me with your unobstructed wisdom eye, please protect me from all inner, outer, and secret harms. Now, with whatever remains of my life, may I not engage in distraction and sinful actions, but spend my days and nights with the sacred *Dharma* (chos, Dharma, Law), thus realizing the essence of this precious human birth. When the illusions of this life fade away, may you, the guide, clearly show your beautiful face, and may the intoxicating offering clouds of heroes and *Dakinis* (mkha' 'gro, Dakini, Sky Dancer) lead my path. Through the accomplishment of your aspiration and prayers, and through the auspicious connection of the supreme devotion of your disciples, in whatever realm you abide, may you lead all of us. I dedicate all the accumulated merits of the three times for the fulfillment of the venerable Lama's intentions. May all activities be completely embraced by the aspirations of *Samantabhadra* (kun tu bzang po, Samantabhadra, Universal Virtue), and may they reach ultimate perfection. The mountain of the Lama, accomplished from billions of precious qualities, stands high in the world, shining amidst the golden mountains of many wise ones, whose qualities are immeasurable. However, because I have never lost the atmosphere of devotion, I am able to embrace your activities like an ocean. With a mind darkened by the iron color of negative karma, I have abandoned exaggeration and diminution, and written just a little. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
