O Sarasvati, since I cannot endure hardship for the sake of Dharma, may I cultivate unwavering courage to embrace suffering and adversity as friends. O Sarasvati, as I lie slothful and negligent in bed, wasting my life in laziness, may I generate intense diligence, spurred by the reminder of inevitable death. O Sarasvati, exhausted by the fleeting, ever-changing nature of the mind that chases after external objects, may you soothe me with the bliss of meditative absorption, free from the torment of conceptual thoughts. O Sarasvati, since I have not relinquished the belief in the reality of illusory appearances arising from ignorance, may I uproot the root of samsara with the penetrating insight that understands dependent origination as emptiness. O Sarasvati, with baseless hopes and fears, and the busyness of conceptual thoughts, the nature of mind has not settled into its natural state, may I sever the clinging to the good and bad of illusory appearances, the creations of the mind. O Sarasvati, since the wild demon of dualistic clinging has not been subdued by its antidote, and all appearances arise as enemies, may you grant me the accomplishment of a yogi who can trample all arising adversities underfoot. O Sarasvati, because I am not accustomed to vast practices and cannot remember the dedication of merit by the Buddhas, may I follow the wisdom of youthful Manjushri and learn the practice of Samantabhadra. O Sarasvati, since the wondrous biographies of the Buddhas and their heirs cannot be contained in my ignorant mind, may you open the doors to a thousand forms of meditative manifestation and grant joy to my heart. O Sarasvati, since I have not grasped in my heart the ultimate meaning of the inner interdependence of the lineage, may you enable me to realize the profound essence that, if one knows it, one becomes all-knowing. O Sarasvati, with the delusion of viewing cause and effect as separate, and laboring to seek enlightenment elsewhere, may you bestow upon me the empowering initiation that instills confidence that the four kayas are inherent within myself. O Sarasvati, being under the sway of conceptual thoughts and ignorance of names, and not recognizing the original face of deities and wisdom, may you reveal to me the excellent path of liberation, where one spends time enjoying the play of bliss and emptiness in whatever arises. O Sarasvati, although one's own nature is Buddhahood, wandering in samsara due to adventitious stains, may you grant me the realization of the meaning of spontaneous accomplishment and primordial purity as inseparable, and bestow the relief of fruition. O Sarasvati, although I hear the tales extolling the ocean of qualities of the Buddhas, I am impoverished by the lack of fortune to see them directly, may you be the captain who leads me swiftly to the other shore of the ocean of qualities. Unable to untie the bonds, Yet not binding oneself, benefiting others. May Saraswati, your works greatly increase! The demon of sleep has stolen half of this short life, Yet I have not experienced it. May Saraswati, with the yoga of clear light dream illusion, Purify the delusions of the night! Whatever being in the three realms is devoured, If one remembers the terror of impermanent Yama. May Saraswati, grant me the warmth of confidence, That even when death comes, there is no need to fear! When this physical illusory body is destroyed, And the visions of the mind-made body in the bardo arise. May Saraswati, show the visions of the actual deity, And lead me on the path! When wealthy, cut the attachment to it; When impoverished, be a companion to share the suffering; When obstacles arise, clear the hindrances on the path; May Saraswati, enhance my experiences of realization! When desiring to see you, show your form; When desiring to ask, inspire with your voice; When devotion arises, with the bliss of blessing, Fill my heart, may Saraswati! Meditating on the guru, your essence is the same; Relying on the deity, in essence, is the guru. When delusion ceases, all is one's own nature, May Saraswati, help me realize this understanding! In short, all the elaborations of dualistic appearances, Without being gathered into the non-dualistic realm of dharma, Not separating even for a moment, May Saraswati, you be my guru! By the power of praying with heartfelt faith, To the deity connected by karma in lifetimes. In all the states of this life, the next life, and the bardo, May you, the protector, always hold me with compassion! Thus, to invoke your compassion, I have written these fifty-five verses. Comfortable in the company of young deer. The songs of the daughter of the Püchu River are pleasing to the ear. The lotus-like slender maiden, with a feast of youth, Invites the bee-like eyes to be guests. In the valley called White Rock Garuda, A yogi dwelling there, diligently practicing. The light of the new crimson monastic robes, Accompanied by the vows of pure conduct. The one named Kunga Tenpai Gyaltsen, When he sees his own bad nature. The pain in his heart is unbearable, To whom should he pray so as not to be deceived?
