All good and bad thoughts subside into the expanse. Inferior ones first seek only tranquility. Having gained stability in whatever is focused upon, then habituated to the distinct discernment of insight. Eventually, like not finding earth and stones in the golden land. Whatever thoughts of mind and mental events arise. Appearance and mind are inseparable, appearing as great primordial liberation. This means, in short, for those of superior faculties, all the afflictive thoughts that appear in the face of delusion, like clouds gathering in the sky, no matter what conditions cause them to arise, their essence does not go beyond emptiness. Therefore, if the essence of whatever good or bad thoughts arise dawns as the Dharmakaya, that is, emptiness, then good and bad are equal, so there is no need to rely on the antidote to afflictions. For those of middling faculties, their nature is clear, realizing that what is to be abandoned and the act of abandoning are of the same essence, and becoming accustomed to clarity in union, then all good and bad thoughts subside into the expanse. For those of inferior faculties, first, as a means to pacify all thoughts such as afflictions, they practice without distraction, seeking the sole method of abiding in the mind. Therefore, once the object of focus becomes unwavering and stable, they become accustomed to the wisdom of insight, the wisdom of distinct discernment, realizing that the nature of tranquility and insight is non-existent. Eventually, just as one does not find earth and stones when one goes to the golden land, the mind, that is, the object from which all thoughts arise, and mental events, that is, whatever good or bad thoughts arise, all these appearances are the play of the mind, like reflections in a mirror, and the two minds of the basis are inseparable, appearing as great primordial liberation, like the example of water and waves. That is what is said. Root text: In the supreme method, whatever thought arises. Do not negate it, nor affirm it. Do not follow after it, do not stray from the natural state. Divine eye, divine ear, and clairvoyance, etc. Obtain all the qualities of purified faculties. This means, from the arising of the wisdom of insight onwards, in the supreme method, that is, to quickly see the self-arisen wisdom, whatever good or bad thoughts arise, do not negate them, let them relax in their own place, nor affirm them, that is, do not anticipate them, nor analyze them afterwards, abide without effort, and do not follow after them. Thus, without straying from the nature of awareness, one obtains the divine eye and

Obtaining the qualities of the five faculties and the accumulation of supernormal powers, as well as all the qualities of clear senses. The six supernormal powers that arise from this are: knowing all four times, knowing the continuum of all minds, seeing everything everywhere with the eye of supernormal power, hearing everything everywhere with the ear of supernormal power, performing beneficial deeds in all assemblies with supernormal power, and perfecting the flawless conduct of Samantabhadra, these are the six. Thus, if it is not grasped by the wisdom of insight, mere calm abiding, because it is the latent habit of self-grasping, cannot cut off the root of existence, neither falling downwards nor rising upwards, it is the action of immovability, merely projecting into the formless realm of meditation, with no other meaning. Although ordinary beings can also attain great results simultaneously, ordinary beings cling to the bliss of calm abiding alone, and their minds sink into emptiness, thus projecting into the peak of existence in the realm of example. But noble ones, because they have the wisdom of insight that is free from self, and the distinction of individual self-awareness, although they have perfected the qualities of the formless realm's samadhi, because their minds do not abide in self-nature, they do not take birth in the higher realms, but having attained an irreversible mind, up to Akanistha, they attain the higher wisdom of seeing and meditating, and thus attain liberation. Among these, the nine successive abidings are: the first dhyana, the second dhyana, the third dhyana, the fourth dhyana, the sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, the sphere of nothingness, the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, and because of the stability of habituation to these, they become the cause of birth in the form and formless realms. Cessation is the attainment of the samadhi that ceases worldly feelings and perceptions, that is, the mind's elaborations cease, and the qualities of awareness also become latent habits. Among these, entering cessation through analysis and examination is the cessation of the mind's elaborations. Unexamined, non-conceptual cessation, although it does not conceptualize the nature of reality, because the compassion without object in the aspect of wisdom is continuous, it accomplishes the benefit of sentient beings. In short, the wisdom realized by the noble ones, and the meditation of ordinary beings, if these two are measured by wisdom, they seem similar,
