Etc., because the defilements of tangible things are exhausted, the place of the great elements manifests as the clear great path of wisdom light, the inner arising cutting through only purifies it into atoms, but cannot transform it into a rainbow body. This great transference ripens into a vajra body, and it is extremely important to distinguish the difference between other tenets and this tenet by the deed of residing for the sake of others until samsara is not empty. Therefore, those who pride themselves on holding the Great Perfection tenets in their respective sects are also different from all those who hold the view, meditation, conduct, and result of the mind as supreme. To distinguish the characteristics well is the key to this instruction. Moreover, the difference between the light body and the meditative body is that the light body is the stainless self-light held by awareness, which is not other than the realm of the Buddha's eye, while the meditative divine body, although the atoms of the four elements are pure, has the difference of appearance because the body of karmic ripening has a divine eye. Among them, the lamp of the distant-shooting water is the door of manifestation, that is, the radiance of awareness appears and is seen in the external world, so it is called distant, and because it binds and liberates according to its own existence or non-existence, the sound of a rope is added. The lamp of the pure realm of reality is the radiance of the inner realm of manifestation that is clear outward, it is only established on its own nature. The lamp of the empty bindu is the aspect of manifestation, it is the support of diligent action. The lamp of self-arisen wisdom is pure and manifests without an object, it is the nature of awareness, the unmistaken reality of vipassanā. If divided, there are four types of wisdom: liberating wisdom, generating wisdom, gathering wisdom, and distinguishing wisdom. For example, the wisdom of hearing and thinking is conceptual discrimination, just as if the wisdom of genuine meditation is realized, it is like dharmatā, these four wisdoms are also individually included in the wisdom of discrimination. Root: Although it is so, the mind that grasps at self, as long as it has not disappeared into the pure realm of dharmadhātu, because the conceptual thoughts that are deceived by sudden causes are obscured by the lord of existence of ordinary self-nature, for those who are the first karmic ones, the essence of śamatha and vipaśyanā is one and, the two types of separate guidance.

From... onwards. Firstly, the meditation of abiding aspect, and the wisdom of clarity aspect, from the union of shamatha and vipassana, establish the meaning of non-duality and freedom from extremes. That is to say, if one realizes the primordially pure and spontaneously accomplished as they are, then it is indeed so. However, before the sudden cause of self-grasping has subsided into the pure expanse of the dharmadhatu, all the phenomena of conceptual thoughts that are deluded by sudden causes are merely ordinary self-nature, that is, the lord of samsara wandering in the wheel of delusion, who will obscure those who are the first practitioners, that is, those who have not gained certainty in any cause-and-effect phenomena, and have merely practiced hearing and contemplation for many years. Leading the two, shamatha and vipassana, as being of the same essence, and leading the two as being separate, among these two ways, firstly, in the aspect of shamatha, the meditation of abiding aspect, and the two, wisdom of clarity aspect, from the union of shamatha and vipassana, establish the meaning of non-duality and freedom from extremes, and the wisdom of suchness, which is the self-nature pure of phenomena grasped as samsara and nirvana, is unwavering from the state of one-pointed awareness, this is shamatha. And its characteristic, the clarity aspect of the wisdom of individual discernment, which is the concept of non-substantiality, is vipassana. Root: The second aspect is divided into two: arising from wisdom, and arising from instructions. Arising from wisdom, in accordance with the sound, one-pointedly pacifies on the meaning of hearing, and from that, realizing the meaning, is the characteristic of vipassana. Arising from instructions, follows the meaning, the mind unmoving is shamatha, its self-nature is wisdom, is vipassana. That is to say, arising from wisdom, is to remember the words of the twelve scriptures, this is in accordance with the sound, one-pointedly pacifies on the meaning of hearing, that is, abiding, and from that, becoming the method of realizing the meaning, this is the characteristic of vipassana. Thus it is said. That is to say, if one does not know the difference that shamatha is the proximate cause of meditation, and vipassana is the actual practice, then even having arrived at the place one should go, one still does not abandon the effort of traveling the path, just as one cannot obtain the pacification of the senses. Thus it is said. Root: In short, the superior transforms bad thoughts into dharmakaya, if good and bad are equal, then there is no need to rely on antidotes. The intermediate is accustomed to the union of clarity.
