Those who have perfected stable samadhi bestow the body mandala upon disciples of superior wisdom, samaya, and fortune; the water mandala upon those of middling capacity; and the powder mandala upon those of inferior capacity, as a means for the vase empowerment. For the three higher empowerments, they rely on conventional bodhicitta; for the consort dakini, they rely on ultimate bodhicitta, that is, they bestow empowerment based on the three self-arisen means. Therefore, during the cause empowerment, the vase empowerment must use the powder mandala, which is permissible for Sakya lineage masters. However, for those who have attained the path of seeing and beyond, holding it in this way becomes the cause of great fault. Generally, the image mandalas such as powder mandalas are methods spoken by masters who have attained the pure Dharma eye, intending to perfect the accumulations of themselves and others, and to subdue the conceptual thoughts of sentient beings. In reality, from the perspective of the one bestowing empowerment, it is the support for the object of focus to be accomplished; from the perspective of the one receiving empowerment, it is due to the other-power of ignorance that the dharmata of one's own mind, and the skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas, which have the nature of the support and supported of the tathagatagarbha, are obscured by the ignorance of outward clinging. In order to directly show what qualities are inherent in oneself through symbols and meanings, it is merely a part of the method, and not the substance and objects themselves that are primarily grasped as signs that can accomplish the truth. Therefore, after purifying emptiness with mantras such as śūnyatā (Tibetan: སྟོང་པ་ཉིད།, Sanskrit Devanagari: शून्यता, Sanskrit Romanization: shunyata, Literal Chinese meaning: emptiness), and through the magical display of samadhi, generating the support and supported as a mandala, whatever the ritual may be, one must follow the scriptures and diligently cultivate the generation stage, recitation, meditation, and completion stage. In general, if one ignorantly views the scriptures and special individuals and obstructs them with the act of abandoning the Dharma, it is accompanied by great faults. Therefore, the accomplished masters, for the mandala that does not appear in other appearances, that is transformed in the form of samadhi, that is unwavering like the ocean, and for the various wish-fulfilling mandalas, the direct valid cognition that ripens disciples cannot be refuted by the reasoning of conceptual thought, therefore one should observe with an equanimous mind. For example, in northern Shambhala, Manjushri Kirti placed four hundred and fifty million Brahman sages in a mandala created by thought and ripened them.

Moreover, the shape of the mandala is not necessarily square; the Kalachakra Great Mandala appears as an eight-doored circle. Nor is it necessarily with doors; the Wisdom Mother Tantras, etc., have the form of a triangular dharma origin. Furthermore, there are many instances where great samaya mandalas, such as eight-petaled lotuses, do not fully manifest with doors and horse necks. These mandalas are also explicitly shown and blessed by their respective mandala lords. Similarly, the number of deities in the retinue is also not fixed. Generally, the immeasurable palace where the Thus-Gone Ones abide is none other than the vajra lady's bhaga. Its nature does not transcend the three doors of liberation. To represent this, it is shown as a dharma origin, etc. Even if it is not shown, it does not fall into the trap of being limited to a narrow place, but rather the all-pervading bhaga, accomplished in the place of the Perfection of Wisdom. For the time being, in accordance with those to be tamed and those who tame, the way in which the immeasurable palace of great samaya is blessed as a square, etc., is taught in the tantras. Therefore, the complete manifestation of the cause-time mandala as a square with doors, cloths, and horse necks is also in accordance with the cause vehicle, and there is no other meaning than the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, such as the four close placements of mindfulness, and pure union. All the truths of the path are conditioned. Since conditioned things do not transcend the conventional, the nature of the conventional dharmas is shown as the three doors of liberation, the essence of ultimate truth, and is represented by the vajra lady's bhaga or image. In the mantra path, the thirty-seven are also divided into thirty-seven from the respective objects, channels, and elements. The purity of what is said to be combined is, in reality, the nature of inseparable bliss and emptiness. As explained in the Manjushri Illusion Net, the way in which the dependent and the depended mandala are represented by the symbolism of the letters E (藏文:ཨེ,梵文天城体:ए,梵文罗马拟音:e,汉语字面意思:诶) and VAM (藏文:ཝཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:旺). In the Kalachakra, Dakini Ocean, etc., many methods of practicing the letters E (藏文:ཨེ,梵文天城体:ए,梵文罗马拟音:e,汉语字面意思:诶) and VAM (藏文:ཝཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,汉语字面意思:旺) are taught. Therefore, one should understand the symbolic meaning of each mandala and not take a one-sided view from the perspective of a guru who has attained accomplishment. However, without realizing the true meaning of the fourth empowerment, the general nature of sound is the deity, and the deportment of the shape and form of the mandala
