All things are empty, just like having a concept without a real object. Secondly, as an appearance, dependent origination is empty of cause having effect, non-arising, all three in the ultimate truth, just like representing something without substance by its own nature. Thirdly, analyzing both cause and effect and then refuting them, just like nominally establishing "space" for something without substance. Fourthly, it is divided into two: negation that is not (非是破斥), which is to analyze the nature of the great law of dependent origination and then refute it; negation that is not (无是破斥) is also free from one and many. That is to say, dependent origination itself is free from the eight extremes such as arising and ceasing, so its nature is empty, just like the appearance of a mirage, which is only dependent origination and not really existent. If summarized briefly, then having form and mind, as well as non-form and non-mind actions, that is, all conditioned phenomena, as well as unconditioned phenomena such as space, and all non-substantial things, are all conventional truth. And their nature, only the absence of true existence, is the ultimate truth, and the two cannot be said to be the same or different, only nominal differences, in the nature of the ultimate dharma realm, there is nothing, so the example of the unelaborated space is used to represent it. In the appearance of conventional truth, although it is empty of self-nature, the appearance does not stop, so the example of illusion is used to represent it. Both are beyond all elaborations such as existence and non-existence, yes and no. Now is the view of the Madhyamaka-Prasaṅgika: Root verse: Thus, appearance is the conventional truth, emptiness is called the ultimate truth, any establishment of names is free from the extremes of elaboration. At the time of appearance, there is no arising, ceasing, going, or coming. The conventional truth that considers other-powered entities as real, does not admit that it is the established extreme. This is the great chariot-way pioneered by the Prasaṅgika, which is the characteristic of Nagarjuna and Chandrakirti. Here, for all the lower views, through debate and analysis, the upper views will not be wrong. That is to say, thus appearance is the conventional truth, emptiness is the ultimate truth, etc., is to teach how to learn all dharmas as the two truths through the wisdom arising from hearing and thinking. For those who only see this shore and do not see the true meaning, it is only relying on names and combining them with clinging thoughts. If the two truths are truly one, then the ultimate truth will also be like the conventional truth.

If it is one, there will be the fault of becoming changeable and defiled; if it is other, then in the conventional truth, just as there are various conditioned objects and subjects included in form, sound, smell, taste, touch, etc., there must also be such in the ultimate truth, so it will not become the realm of phenomena. Therefore, it is not established as either one or other. This nominalist philosophical system refutes the assertions of others and is devoid of all acceptance of consequentialist reasoning, so it mainly uses contradictory and fallacious methods to refute the assertions of others, hence it is called the Consequentialist. According to this system, the three unconditioned phenomena, etc., which are asserted to be below Mind-Only, are all nominalist and non-existent unconditioned phenomena; and phenomena such as form, which are known as external objects, and the eight aggregates of consciousness, the fifty-one mental factors, etc., in short, all the phenomena of the basis of samsara, and all the phenomena included in the temporary path; and the parts newly arising from darkness included in the result, the Buddha, and all the phenomena of appearance and sound included in the perceptions of other beings to be tamed, or the phenomena divided by phenomena and suchness, or the phenomena included in grasping and being grasped, etc. In this context of establishing the ultimate truth, all phenomena, existent and non-existent, and those that are posited as conditioned and adventitious, are without inherent existence, while the wisdom, self-awareness, and self-illumination that are one and non-dual in the realm of phenomena are called the ultimate truth, reality, suchness, and unconditioned. This alone can be discerned by reason and is truly established. In India, it is called the Great Madhyamaka, and here in Tibet, it is called the Other-Empty Madhyamaka. The emptiness like space, which is asserted by ordinary Madhyamikas of the self-empty school, is not considered the ultimate truth because it is non-existent when analyzed. Therefore, in this philosophical system, the nature of all phenomena is unborn, and the nature of phenomena is free from all extremes of elaboration, so from the moment of appearance, it is unborn, unceasing, primordially peaceful, and naturally nirvanic. Therefore, even the conventional truth that is acknowledged is refuted, and it is considered the view of Madhyamaka to establish it on the basis of its own nature. If the emptiness that is the object of establishment is considered the view of Madhyamaka free from extremes, then those four extremes themselves will become views of clinging to extremes, so the distinction between extremes and clinging to extremes has not been made.
