Therefore, I will not neglect diligence either. This means that although diligence is placed as one category, in reality, it is the companion of the six perfections, and without it, the others will also have the fault of declining, and with it, it will bring the six to completion. Before meditation, the qualities of the place are explained: Root verse: The medicinal fields where forests and flowers are dense, are relied upon by swans that are extremely peaceful, and the beautiful rocky hillsides, and places adorned by young deer playing. This explains that the place for meditation practice is not as busy as dwellings, etc. The medicinal fields where forests and flowers are dense, etc., are places where swans are free from harsh behavior and rely on extreme peace, and the beautiful rocky hillsides and places adorned by young deer playing exist in a naturally accomplished manner, and not only that. Root verse: The delightful forest, like the girdle of a goddess, when the net-like branches of young trees sway, not like uttering sounds out of fear, but the cuckoos deliver letters of weariness with samsara, like companions who encourage renunciation. This also explains that in the extremely delightful forest, like the girdle of a goddess, when the net-like branches of young trees sway, not like uttering sounds out of fear, but the cuckoos deliver letters of weariness with samsara, like companions who encourage renunciation. Encouragement to go to such a place: Root verse: Go there, those who desire meditation! In the midst of enjoyments like clouds obscuring, life is like playful lightning, flickering and trembling. Change and suffering, compositional factors like thieves plunder, a river that creates collapse is noisy and chaotic, desires for accumulation, protection, and increase are constantly disturbing, arrogance, stinginess, and miserliness exhaust life, wandering endlessly in the boundless ocean of bad destinies. This is requesting those who desire to go to such a secluded place to practice meditation. If not, in the midst of enjoyments created by the eight worldly concerns, like clouds obscuring, life is impermanent and easily changed, like playful lightning flickering and trembling, change and suffering.

The thief of suffering and the three aggregates, called 'looking for opportunities and seeking opportunities,' is an example of creating chaos, just like nesting on the banks of a noisy river, where the ears are constantly tormented. Accumulating wealth, guarding and multiplying it is very difficult, being disturbed by desires, being arrogant and complacent because of wealth, being stingy with offerings and generosity, and exhausting one's life with miserliness, if one falls into this situation, it becomes the cause of wandering in the endless ocean of evil destinies. That's (what it means). Root verse: The value of the dark clouds of deception. The more wealth, the more suffering. Simple utensils are abandoned due to the harm of enemies and thieves. Contentment is attained, ascending to the peak of wealth. This is to say that deception refers to being two-faced and having a deceitful mind, and hypocrisy refers to the idea of only deceiving others. The food and wealth obtained through these two are as dark as ripe clouds and are extremely precious things of sin and suffering. Therefore, the more such wealth, the more it is the cause of producing suffering. Simple utensils, that is, if there is little food and wealth, they will be abandoned due to the harm of enemies and thieves, and obtaining contentment is to ascend to the peak of perfect wealth. Root verse: The nature of ordinary beings is childish. Children are shrouded in clouds of sin. Praising oneself and proclaiming slander against others. Relying on the posture of the rough tongue of afflictions. Considering any changing wealth to be eternal. Ungrateful, distorting the image of satisfaction. The flames of hatred are fanned by the wind of discord. Like monkeys, giving all kinds of harm. Like crocodiles, the belly of sin is wide. Like venomous snakes, destroying whoever they meet. Like fire, it will burn the trees of goodness. One should stay away from the friendship of children. This is to say that ordinary beings, that is, those who are not of the noble lineage, are children even if they are old. Like this, whether it is an old or young person with a childish mind, their thoughts and actions are shrouded in clouds of sin, praising themselves, slandering others, etc., proclaiming unpleasant words, relying on the posture of the rough tongue through the gate of afflictions, that is, the habit of evil thoughts, being defiled by filth.

English

One is constantly mindful of impermanent and fluctuating wealth, ungrateful to benefactors, difficult to please, showing a distorted face. Whether on one's own side or another's, one is driven by the wind of sparks of evil thoughts, creating discord. One's behavior and demeanor are unstable, like a monkey causing various harms. One is indifferent to killing and other evils, like a crocodile with a wide belly for sin, and has no scruples about unwholesome actions. Like a venomous snake, one destroys whoever one encounters, leading both enemies and friends to ruin like fire, even burning the virtuous trees that nourish others. Such childish companions obstruct purity and should be kept far away, those who deprive one of freedom. Root verse: The six objects are worse, the ripening is harsh. In the moment of enjoyment, the taste of pursuit also appears. Not just in one lifetime, but in all lifetimes. Supreme mantras and medicine cannot cure it. If the elephant of the mind is not tamed. There is no illusion greater than the objects. Place the aggregates' activities on the yoke, for as long as that is. One should rely on the peaceful forest clearings. This means that those who become the objects of the six senses are the cause of generating only the three poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance, so they are worse than strong poison, and the harsh ripening does not appear in this life. In the moment of enjoyment, it seems like there is a taste of pursuit, but it is not just for one lifetime, and in all lifetimes, supreme mantras and medicine cannot cure it. If the elephant of the mind has not departed from coarse behavior, until it is tamed, there is no illusion greater than the six objects, so for as long as one places the activities of the aggregates of form, feeling, perception, etc., on the yoke, one should rely on peaceful places such as quiet forest clearings. Root verse: Remote wilderness, pleasant sadness increases. Abandon trade and agriculture, friends of sin. Taxes and levies, hunger and thirst do not afflict. The sounds of birds and animals are not unpleasant. Clean water and fine fruits, vast enjoyment. Rocky mountain caves, leaf houses are also spacious. The cool shade of trees accompanies.
