Therefore, the initial foolish person, being completely struck by the arrow of the heart demon, causes separation between teacher and student. In thought and action, they go against the guru and all Dharma friends, indulging in the mire of degradation. Root verse: When staying near the holy, they are eager to flee. Wherever they go, they are seized by sin. If urged to practice in solitude, they ruin the appearance of Dharma practice, like a blade of kusha grass swaying in the wind. This refers to those foolish disciples who, when staying near the holy, are eager to flee to other places. Wherever they go, they engage in sinful activities such as stealing, robbing, and deceiving, relying on these for a living. If the guru advises them to practice in solitude, they ruin the seemingly beautiful appearance of Dharma practice, abandoning diligence in listening, thinking, and meditating, like a blade of kusha grass swaying in the wind, lacking stability. This also depends on how the guru guides the disciple, whether advising them to practice in solitude, assigning them to benefit beings, or allowing them to stay in place to uphold the Dharma. If these can be accomplished, there will be no obstacles, and all will be auspicious. Root verse: Evil people, with deceitful words and double tongues, approach the guru like an elephant approaches incense, and after obtaining precious Dharma, they abandon their vows with joy, like hunters. This refers to those who are evil in nature, spending their days with deceitful words and actions, flaunting their two tongues, approaching the guru like an elephant approaches incense, not out of sincere faith. After obtaining the precious Dharma of liberation, they not only do not keep their vows, but also, like hunters, even think of killing the guru, recklessly abandoning their vows like throwing stones. Root verse: Those who are immature in mind, after obtaining the key points of the teachings, abandon them, searching everywhere for various texts, ultimately gaining nothing, and all previous practice is wasted. This refers to those who are not yet mature in mind, who, after obtaining the key points of ripening and liberation, do not practice them well, but abandon them at will. Searching everywhere for various texts, they ultimately become exhausted, finding no new profound Dharma, and all that they have learned and practiced before is completely wasted. Root verse: Lacking faith in the true meaning,
