Being wrapped in trees and leaves, swaying in the sky, etc., also brings suffering. Some are temporary, such as a butcher in the city of Stone (Rdo 'jog) who received the precept of not killing at night from the venerable Kātyāyana. Due to previous unwholesome deeds, he was born in a temporary hell, suffering during the day, but at night the precept was not lost, so he had the enjoyment of a god. There are also some, such as the son of Maudgalyāyana reaching the end of the ocean, and then seeing beings in temporary hell turning into pestles, as well as brooms, sticks, doors, ashes, ropes, tripods, pillars, etc., experiencing various sufferings. Furthermore, like the butcher who slaughters cows in Rājagṛha, whose bones are pecked by crows, and he himself feels the pain, similarly, the pain of cutting down trees is also felt by himself. In a place called "Million-Eared Marks," when lost, in a net-like house, immediately after striking the gaṇḍā, about five hundred images of Śrāvakas gathered, killing each other, and then all went out and disappeared, and so on, there are many such examples. In general, although the types of hells are summarized as eighteen, they are not limited to this. The Ākāśagarbha Sūtra and other scriptures describe them in much more detail. Root verse: Even in the realm of pretas, due to the lack of desires, The suffering that arises is constant and unchangeable, The suffering caused by hunger, thirst, cold, heat, fatigue, and fear, Is extremely unbearable, one should know and experience. It means that due to the torment of hunger and thirst, the desires in their hearts are never satisfied, and the suffering that arises from this is constant. Due to this fault, they run around tirelessly, only to seek food. Even if they see food, they are afraid because they see people guarding it with weapons, and the suffering that arises from this is extremely unbearable, one should know that they are enduring it. In particular, those with inner obstructions have stomachs as big as mountains, but mouths as small as needle eyes. Food is guarded by others or there is none at all, or even if they find a little bit of unclean things, they cannot get it into their mouths, and their stomachs cannot be filled, so they suffer. Those with food obstructions, on top of the previous suffering, their stomachs burn with fire at night, and food also turns into flames, and so on.

. The common obscurations are: without flesh, the bones are covered with skin, becoming dry and emaciated. Among them, the so-called commoners cannot find even the most inferior food and drink, and they quarrel, beat, etc. as soon as they meet. The external obscurations are: the moon is hot in summer and the sun is cold in winter. The trees are full of fruits, but they wither as soon as they are looked at. The rivers are also the same. The pretas wandering in the sky are: rotten bodies and zombies, as well as the yakshas that make people crazy, make people forget, flesh-eating ghosts, oppressors, and those that make people thin, Namdru, curses, rakshasas, tsen, kings, etc., all kinds of spirits. These are classified as ghosts. Now some people say that the dead do not go anywhere and are among the living, which is only an illusion of a cow showing off its gold color. Any deceased person, because of the karma accumulated in his previous life, is reborn as a member of these sky-wandering pretas, causing harm because of resentment and blood feuds against the people and property of the living. Moreover, those who go out from the heart will transfer the key feelings of their own previous death to the other party's consciousness, thereby causing harm and harassment. Those who are capable will torture them with spells and subjugation punishments. In addition, they also have bodies and sufferings similar to ordinary people. Root verse: Even in the birthplace of animals, there are various sufferings such as killing, binding, and beating. For those who have abandoned tranquility and good deeds, one eats the other, which is extremely unbearable. It means that animals have two types: scattered and gregarious. The first type is that one kills the other, the big ones eat many small ones, and many small ones gnaw at the big ones' bodies. In addition, being killed by stones, etc. is also painful. Being bound by ropes, beaten, and forced into servitude, etc., one must experience various sufferings. For those who abandon the mind of tranquility and abandon good deeds, the suffering of one eating the other, etc., which is extremely unbearable, must endure heavy and long-lasting suffering. The sutra says that dragons must also be included in the animal realm, so that the suffering of the three lower realms can be slightly reduced.
