How does the wisdom that measures measure? It measures in four ways: with two, direct and definitive meanings, and two, hidden and intentional meanings. The essence or nature of all phenomena is suchness, and its state is the three doors of liberation: the door of liberation, emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. That which exists in such a way is called definitive meaning, which is merely a designation for that which is without things and without signs. Furthermore, it is called a phenomenon because it enters the path of illusory appearances, and that which, after being measured by reason, is merely imputed and cannot touch the real meaning is the direct path. With these two, which of the direct and definitive meanings should be relied upon and which should not be relied upon, in common parlance, is to know which is meaningful and which is meaningless. This is determined to be the key to viewing all scriptures. Furthermore, any sutras that are taught for the purpose of entering the path are all of direct meaning, and all that are taught for the purpose of entering the fruit are of definitive meaning. Furthermore, if we divide it in detail, we should rely on meaning and not rely on words, rely on wisdom and not rely on consciousness, rely on definitive meaning and not rely on direct meaning, and rely on the nature of reality and not rely on individuals. Among these, words are worldly phenomena, and meaning transcends them. Consciousness is close to and abides in form, feeling, perception, and formations. Wisdom is the complete knowledge of the aggregates of consciousness that abide in the four aggregates of form, feeling, perception, and formations. In short, those that mainly show the state of reality are called definitive meaning sutras, and those that show the path of means to enter reality are called direct meaning teachings. Root text: In order to clarify these natures, and in order to realize the intentional meaning of the meaning, the two hidden and intentional meanings are explained, the first is the intentional meaning, and there is also a slightly exaggerated statement, in order to temporarily guide the objects to be tamed, not only for one purpose, but with necessity and purpose, and with limitations, the four intentional meanings are shown. This passage means that in order to clarify these, that is, the nature mentioned above, and in order to realize the intentional meaning of the meaning, therefore, the two hidden meanings with intentional meaning and hidden meaning are explained, the two hidden meanings are explained, the first is the one with intentional meaning, in general, although one places an object of focus in the mind, it does not reveal it outwardly, like

However, the phrase "it can also be said with some exaggeration" refers to subtly hinting at the key point held in mind, without explicitly revealing it, as if concealing the essence. That is, the so-called "field of those to be tamed" is not solely for the sake of directly addressing others temporarily, but rather with special necessity, demonstrating four different intentions. The root verses are: "Realizing the intention of equality, also shows contradictions as one. If thinking of other meanings, it shows non-establishment. If thinking of other times, it shows effortless enlightenment. If thinking of the individual, it criticizes holding them as supreme." That is, the intention of realizing equality means that in the relative appearance, the yogi who has realized the ultimate truth shows that the contradictory phenomena, such as samsara and nirvana, good and bad, which are the objects and subjects of dualistic grasping, are without contradiction in the realm of phenomena, free from elaboration, and become one taste. Thinking of other meanings refers to: the imputed characteristic is without inherent existence, and is not established in the ultimate truth; the dependent arising is without inherent existence, and arising from the four extremes is not established; the perfectly established is the ultimate non-inherent existence, because it is free from all elaboration. Thinking of other times refers to: as the "King of Aspiration Prayers of Excellent Conduct" says, "Whoever holds, proclaims, or reads this 'Excellent Conduct Prayer,' its ripening will be known only by the Buddha, do not doubt the supreme enlightenment." This shows that even without relying on other causes and conditions, one can touch enlightenment, but one who has previously accumulated a great deal of merit will become like the helmsman of the boat of enlightenment. Thinking of the individual refers to: for those who hold as supreme any of the six paramitas experienced by each individual, or other phenomena that they consider to be with or without characteristics, it is a criticism. As the sutra says, "Attachment to the six paramitas is also the work of demons." The root verses are: "With hidden intention, for any disciple who does not understand and has doubts, in order to subtly guide them onto the right path with names and methods that suit their liking, teachings are taught that have the same words but different meanings." That is, the so-called hidden intention refers to when taming any being who needs to be tamed, if that being is of inferior lineage and cannot understand the Mahayana paramitas, or
