The ground is that which sees all from the equality of both. Therefore, if one abides in perfect equality, then the dharmas are luminous like the sky, and the aspect of understanding is flawless vipashyana. The sharp conceptualization of the mind's negative distraction, which has various objects, is not individual self-awareness. For this, profound wisdom that does not grasp the middle or just the middle of all dualistic dharmas, and great compassion that focuses on beings from its power, is the means. That is, in samadhi, the nature of samatha, which is the nature of meditation, and the wisdom of vipashyana, which is the nature of wisdom, accomplish the union of both. If the paramita of diligence is bound, then that meditation will accomplish the attainment of all perfections, it is said. This itself is inseparable from the six paramitas. Now, the prajnaparamita, which is the fruit of all five paramitas, is: Root: The ascertainment of the training in higher wisdom is born from the application of samadhi, or the wisdom that arises from the entity and subsequent attainment, or the three wisdoms that arise from hearing, thinking, and meditating, accomplish correct vipashyana. This means that the nature of the training in higher wisdom is to thoroughly distinguish the meaning of the Abhidharma Pitaka without confusion. Its ascertainment is the application of samadhi, that is, the actual wisdom that arises from meditation and is free from all obscurations, or the inferior wisdom, and the three wisdoms that arise from hearing, thinking, and meditating, accomplish correct vipashyana. Root: Destroying the multitude of afflictions, knowing dharma and dharmata, passing from the city of existence to the state without sorrow. The six types of generosity, etc., also from higher to higher, enter into the excellence of relying on the prajnaparamita. This means that striving for meaning through the three wisdoms in this way destroys afflictions from their essence and continuum, and also knows the profound nature of reality and the reality of all phenomena that appear in confused states. Knowing in this way, one can completely transcend the city of existence, which is oppressed by sorrow, without fatigue, and the six paramitas, such as generosity, also enter into excellence from higher to higher, that is, one attains the result by relying on the noble dharma of the prajnaparamita. In short, the cause

Those who have attained certainty in unfailing results can distinguish between Dharma and non-Dharma; they generate certainty in the qualities of the teacher and the teachings, and (know) that all qualities depend on the virtuous friend; they become weary of worldly conduct and ultimate goals, and they have a firm conviction in dependent origination. Regarding the acceptance and rejection of the higher and lower vehicles, the two truths, the two meanings (definitive and provisional), and the two (systems of) sutra and tantra, although they are contradictory to other individuals, they are not contradictory to those with wisdom, and so on. These are many superior Dharmas. Even if one obtains the position of a king, etc., due to the results of past generosity, if one lacks wisdom, one will quickly decline. Root verse: In this place, in the position of ordinary beings, if one does not rely on the wisdom arising from listening, the qualities of thinking and meditating will wander in the wrong place. The wisdom of listening is said to be the cause of all. This means that if the mind-stream of a person is noble, they may easily understand the meaning of listening and thinking due to the power of past habits, but it is very important to strive until one has obtained the four correct knowledges. Furthermore, in this case, an ordinary being is one whose mind is afflicted. In such an inferior state, if one does not rely on the wisdom arising from listening, then the wisdom of thinking and meditating will wander in the wrong place, just like a child trying to act tough and imitating an adult. Therefore, one should strive as it is said that the wisdom of listening is the cause of all. Therefore, in order to subdue those who do not have faith in the teachings, one needs to study grammar and logic; in order to guide those who have faith, one needs to study craftsmanship and medicine; and in order to know everything oneself, one needs to seek inner knowledge. If all of this is for the sake of attaining Buddhahood, then that is certainly good, but in order to unerringly explain the suchness of selflessness from the perspective of general characteristics and direct perception, it is necessary to establish the distinction between the two meanings (definitive and provisional). Root verse: The object to be measured is measured by the wisdom that measures, the two meanings and the four intentions. The essence of all phenomena is suchness, abiding in the three liberations is the definitive meaning. Because phenomena appear to enter the path, they are measured by reason and established as the path of provisional expression. Knowing which of the two is definitive and which is not to be relied upon is the key to viewing the scriptures. This means that the object to be measured refers to the conventional realm that is grasped as samsara and nirvana, and that which measures
