Is protection. If these three exist without diminishing, then growth will be like gradually getting better, and if they diminish, then repair them. From which aspect of the three did the fault occur? Thoroughly remove it, and then restore it according to their respective treatises. Why? If faults increase and expand, then prevent any of their causes and conditions. If virtue increases and merits expand, then even what is prohibited will be allowed. In short, permission and prohibition do not only exist on the path of words, but are also related to the causes and conditions of the high and low capacities of individuals. That is to say, on the path of accumulation, one must abandon evil deeds; on the path of preparation, one must accumulate virtues; and on the path of seeing, one must mainly do things that benefit sentient beings. Root text: The six perfections and two accumulations, May virtues not yet born be born, And may virtues already born increase, The discipline of gathering virtues, Is called the training of the mind. Whatever virtue is embraced by love and compassion, Wherever it benefits sentient beings, Is the perfection of generosity. In this, there is no selfish motive, This is the perfection of discipline. In benefiting others, there is no weariness, This is the perfection of patience. Especially entering with joy, This is the perfection of diligence. Focusing on sentient beings with one mind, This is the perfection of meditation. Abandoning attachment to reality, This is the perfection of wisdom. The six perfections are never separated. In all four postures of walking, standing, sitting, and lying down, Always possess mindfulness and awareness. Wherever you go is pure, The accumulation of excellent resources. The postures of walking, rising, and lying down, Are also the path of the six perfections. Entering effortlessly and spontaneously, Completes the accumulation very quickly. Thus, that is to say, the six perfections are: doing the things of sentient beings is generosity, having no selfish motivation for this is discipline, not being tired of doing things for the benefit of others is patience, entering with joy is diligence, not being distracted by this is meditation, and not being attached to reality is wisdom. These also, not thinking about things is generosity, not dwelling is discipline, not distinguishing anything is patience, having no acceptance or rejection is diligence, not being attached is meditation, and not having duality is wisdom. The two accumulations are the cause, merit, and the result, the qualities of wisdom, causing the unarisen to arise, and causing the arisen to increase, called the discipline of gathering virtues, which is embraced by the training of the mind. No matter how small or large, whatever virtues are embraced by love and compassion, wherever

It is the giving of benefiting sentient beings. Regarding this, starting from the selfless discipline, until the six perfections are never separated, like the root. The four conducts, whether in eating, sleeping, walking, or dwelling, at any time, one must maintain mindfulness and awareness of everything, the actions of the three doors are completely purified, that is, the virtuous deeds held by the mind of enlightenment, even lifting and placing the feet, also strive to enter the path of the six perfections, entering without effort, therefore, perfecting the two accumulations is very rapid. The six opposing factors of the six perfections are: the mind of contempt, the mind of laziness, the mind of obscuration, the mind of complete weariness due to seeking, the mind with obstacles, it is said that it is very important to be free from these. At this time, regarding the method of collecting the virtuous deeds of completely purifying actions, one should refer to what is said in the Avatamsaka Sutra and recorded in the Great Commentary. Through generating the mind of enlightenment, in a direct or indirect way, one's own body, enjoyment, the ocean of virtuous deeds, and all sentient beings are given, protected, purified, and increased, with these four, one can summarize all the vows of the Bodhisattva. Moreover, it is said that the initial practitioner, the believer, the one who dwells on the seven impure grounds, and the one who dwells on the three pure grounds gradually obtain these fruits. Root verse: Skillful in means, not separated from direct and indirect, wholeheartedly benefiting all sentient beings, giving and loving speech, beneficial conduct and collaboration, the door of virtuous Dharma-collecting discipline is so wide. It means that, being skilled in the means of benefiting others, whether directly or indirectly, for all sentient beings, without any distinction of near or far, wholeheartedly benefiting them, what is needed is like giving, pleasant words are like loving speech, acting on the affairs of those to be tamed is like beneficial conduct, encouraging others to do good is like collaboration, and what is done is in accordance with the Dharma, these are the disciplines of accumulating virtuous Dharma, that is, there is no distinction in behavior, the path is so wide, wholeheartedly dedicating oneself to this, and only through benefiting others can their continuum be matured. Root verse: For whom are the six observations proclaimed, observe the prosperity and decline of one's own Dharma, if one can benefit others without losing the path of Dharma, one should observe the mistakes of ordinary people who lose self-interest. It means that, for the discipline of benefiting sentient beings, for whom, that is, for this, six observations are proclaimed.
