Through the augmentation of skillful means, power, aspiration, and wisdom, there are ten in total. The six perfections are as follows: accumulating virtue and dharma; for those who live in households, patience and generosity are ethics. Ethics are the precepts of a layperson, meaning to turn away from sin. The main aspects of accumulating virtue are vows and enhancements, such as meditative concentration and other higher intentions. Depending on the antidotes to the obscurations to be abandoned, they are divided into ten: miserliness, immoral conduct, anger, laziness, distraction, unwise intelligence, lack of skillful means, obscurations to power, failure to fulfill aspirations, and obscurations to wisdom. If divided into six, the five, such as generosity, are merit, and wisdom is the accumulation of wisdom. For this, what is to be accomplished by the Mahayana practitioner is not abiding in samsara through the wisdom of realizing suchness, and not abiding in nirvana through the skillful means connected with great compassion, which is called non-abiding nirvana. The root is: Through the power of intelligence and strength, what can be accomplished are the three types of bodhisattvas. First seeking one's own benefit, then desiring to liberate beings, is the vast aspiration of a king-like mind. Desiring to liberate oneself and others simultaneously is the supreme wisdom mind like a boatman. First liberating beings, and then desiring peace for oneself, is the incomparable mind of a shepherd. Dull faculties require thirty-three countless eons, intermediate faculties require seven, and sharp faculties require three to be liberated. This means that the three types of bodhisattvas who accomplish through the power of small, medium, and great intelligence are: those with dull faculties first seek their own benefit and then desire to liberate beings, which is the vast aspiration of a king-like mind; liberating oneself and others simultaneously, that is, desiring to become a Buddha, like a boatman and a guest crossing a river together, is called the supreme wisdom mind; first liberating beings, that is, not seeking one's own benefit until all sentient beings are placed on the level of Buddhahood, and then desiring peace for oneself, like a shepherd, is the incomparable mind. Dull faculties first make themselves a Buddha and then want to benefit beings, which requires thirty-three countless eons; intermediate faculties want to become a Buddha simultaneously with themselves and others, practicing the supreme Dharma, which also requires seven countless eons; great faculties

The Buddha said that without establishing on the ground, not seeking self-interest, becoming a Buddha after countless three great asamkhya kalpas, that is, after generating the supreme Bodhicitta, learning and perfecting what should be learned, but benefiting sentient beings as a Bodhisattva of the ten bhumis, until samsara is empty, not attaining complete enlightenment, like the three family lords (Avalokiteśvara, Mañjuśrī, Vajrapāṇi). Here, the path of the Vinaya and mantra is to first take vows, and then be able to learn together what should be learned, while the Bodhisattva path is to first understand what should be learned, and then, when one is confident and able to practice, to properly uphold what should be learned. Now, the nature of the perfection of generosity is explained: Root: The nature of generosity is without attachment. The classifications are threefold: Dharma giving, material giving, and fearlessness giving. Material giving also has three types: giving, great giving, and extreme giving. Giving refers to giving food, clothing, vehicles, elephants, land, etc. to others. Great giving refers to giving sons, daughters, and family. Extreme giving refers to giving the head and limbs that are difficult to give. This means that the nature of generosity is without attachment, which is the antidote to one's clinging and attachment to enjoyment. The classifications are threefold: Dharma giving, material giving, and fearlessness giving. For example, once a person sought to compete with the generosity of Anathapindika, but failed to find a match, so he renounced all food and wealth and became a renunciate, and the Buddha prophesied that he was more excellent than Anathapindika. King Prasenajit gave a portion of warm rice to four ascetics and thereby obtained the throne. The merchant could not suppress, and could not say no when a beggar begged. Meditating on being happy even if others stole from one's own home. When he himself became poor, he used the money from selling grass for giving. King Shibi accumulated the capital of impermanent giving and engaged in offering giving, and should learn in this way. Although the root first speaks of Dharma giving, here the other two givings are spoken of first, first material giving, then great giving, and extreme giving. Among them, giving refers to giving food, clothing, large and small wealth, horses, elephants, etc. Great giving refers to giving away sons, daughters, and family if someone begs for them. This means that the king does everything to save, but due to jealousy, the king
