Mo. The mindfulness of the mind is to meditate on emptiness in its nature, and on non-cessation and non-abiding in the subsequent attainment. The mindfulness of the Dharma is to meditate on equality in equipoise, and on the eight similes of illusion in the subsequent attainment. In the middling accumulation path, unwholesome dharmas that have not arisen are not generated, and those that have arisen are cut off. Wholesome dharmas that have not arisen are generated, and those that have arisen are increased. In the great accumulation path, the four legs of miraculous power are the samadhi of combined calm and insight, and by meditating on the one-pointedness of mind, the meaning of the eye and clairvoyance and miraculous powers, etc., is accomplished. These are the four samadhis of aspiration, effort, mind, and investigation. Joining non-conceptual wisdom to the path of seeing is the characteristic of the path of joining. The nature of the path abides in the four: heat, peak, forbearance, and supreme dharma. In heat and peak, one meditates on the five faculties: the faculty of faith, the faculty of effort, the faculty of mindfulness, the faculty of samadhi, and the faculty of wisdom. In forbearance and supreme dharma, one meditates on the five powers: the power of faith, etc., transforming as above. Thus, the wisdom of the four parts of the path of joining, with the distinction of small, medium, and large, is called the twelve aspects of definite emergence. That is, heat and peak are small, forbearance is medium, and supreme dharma is large, so the path of joining is when the path of seeing is born in that very life. That path has five superior dharmas compared to the lower ones: the antidote of refutation, the antidote of abandonment, the antidote of reliance, and the antidote of prolongation, etc. When one directly sees the nature of reality, it is the path of seeing. The basis of the path of seeing is the seven branches of enlightenment, which are mindfulness, investigation of dharma, effort, joy, pliancy, samadhi, and equanimity. These seven are the branches of enlightenment, as stated in the "Friendly Letter." At this time, one is also liberated from the two obscurations. The obscurations of the five perfections, such as generosity, and miserliness, etc., are the afflictive obscurations. The three circles of wisdom, the clinging to truth, and the unlabelled and unspecified nature, becoming the apprehended and the apprehender, are the obscurations of knowledge, so one is liberated from both. That is, when one first obtains the wisdom of the past, at that time, what is to be abandoned, together with its seeds, ceases simultaneously, and one realizes individually.

Through wisdom, directly realizing the two types of selflessness, one obtains unprecedented great joy, hence the Extremely Joyful Ground. At this time, in a single instant, one knows that one has seen the faces of a hundred Buddhas and received their blessings, and one's self also emanates a hundred bodies, demonstrating for a hundred eons. The wisdom gaze enters a hundred places, both before and after. One enters and arises from a hundred samadhis. One ripens a hundred sentient beings. One shakes a hundred buddhafields and illuminates them with light. One opens a hundred doors of ritual and manifests a hundred bodies, each surrounded by retinues. In future lives, one can obtain rebirth as a king ruling Jambudvipa, and it is said that one can also obtain other rebirths at will. At this time, one possesses the Noble Eightfold Path, namely: Right View, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, Right Concentration, Right Speech, Right Action, and Right Mindfulness. Right knowledge and right mindfulness are the eight branches of the path. This is from the 'Friendly Letter.' Furthermore, although the ten grounds are established in relation to removing the ten stains of the ten perfections, they are also the ten perfections, each primarily practiced while also accomplishing the remaining perfections. These are also divided into nine types by the three divisions of the path of cultivation: small, medium, and large. The small of the small is the second ground, the Stainless Ground, which is the perfection of discipline, etc. One should know how to combine the ten grounds and ten perfections, with each lower one being associated with it. The small of the medium is the third ground, the Illuminating Ground; the small of the large is the fourth ground, the Radiant Intelligence Ground. The complete maturation of these three is: the first is a golden wheel-turning king; the second is Indra, the lord of the gods; the third obtains rebirth as a twin-born god-king. The medium of the small is the fifth ground, the Very Difficult to Train Ground; the medium of the medium is the sixth ground, the Manifest Ground; the medium of the large is the seventh ground, the Far-Going Ground. These three also become: the first, the Tushita heaven; the second, the Delightful Emanation heaven; the third, the king of the Other-Controlling Wielding Power heaven. The large of the small is the eighth ground, the Immovable Ground; the large of the medium is the ninth ground, the Good Intelligence Ground; the large of the large is the tenth ground, the Cloud of Dharma Ground. The first of these three becomes the great god Brahma; the second, the Great Brahma; the third, the lord of the Pure Abode gods. Among these, at the time of the second ground, there are twelve thousand qualities; at the time of the third ground, there are twelve myriads;
