and respectfully honor and serve the esteemed lama. Take whatever the lama says as the Buddha's word, and carry it out accordingly, not protecting oneself. Such a person is said to be liberated by faith and devotion alone. For example, when the noble teacher Aryadeva discarded his nasal mucus, Nagarjuna's disciple took it and put it in his mouth, thereby seeing the truth of the first ground. When the teacher Nyak was imprisoned in a dungeon, Palgyi Yeshe killed the two prison guards and invited the teacher, thereby attaining accomplishment. Root text: Faith and wisdom, learning and great compassion, respect for vows and samaya, the three doors are tamed. Generous, giving, pure perception, possessing shame. This refers to the qualities of a student, namely, having genuine faith, understanding the essence of the Dharma through wisdom, knowing what is not Dharma through learning, not abandoning sentient beings with great compassion, possessing the vows of individual liberation, the vows of a Bodhisattva, and the samaya of mantra, thereby pacifying and taming the three doors. Being generous, being friendly and amiable with fellow practitioners and those nearby. Possessing generosity, pure perception, and shame, thereby increasing the two accumulations. Root text: Protecting the lama extremely is wisdom, not being angry at reproaches like a supreme horse, like a boat going and coming, abandoning weariness of places, like a bridge bearing all good and bad, like a forge enduring all heat and cold, listening to instructions like a servant, abandoning pride like a rag, abandoning arrogance like a hornless bull. The sutras say to rely on the lama in this way. That is, even if it concerns one's own life, one does not protect it, and even the slightest wrong action towards the lama is guarded like one's own eyes, this is wisdom. Not being angry at reproaches, just as a supreme horse does not retaliate no matter how it is whipped. Wherever the lama sends one, one goes and comes like a boat, abandoning weariness of places, bravely enduring difficulties, carrying heavy burdens on one's back. Like a bridge, bearing all good and bad, joy and sorrow, right and wrong. Like a forge, enduring all heat and cold, such as hot burning iron and cold ice water. Just as whatever task the lama assigns, whether gentle or harsh, capable or not, one endures it. Listening to instructions as they are, not doing what is not

Even for a short time, one should be like a slave who does not disobey orders. When serving the guru, one should abandon pride and arrogance, and serve the guru like a rhinoceros, like a buffalo with its head cut off, as stated in the scriptures. Root verse: If you are wealthy, offer to the fourth Jewel. Service and attendance, using body and speech, all will never be in vain. Among the three ways to please, practice is the best. This means that adding the guru to the Three Jewels is the fourth Jewel, and if you are wealthy, offering to it is the same as offering to the Three Jewels. The guru is the embodiment of the Three Jewels, and serving with body and speech, no matter how hard you work, will not be in vain. Pleasing the guru with material offerings, pleasing the guru with physical and verbal service, and diligently practicing to please the guru, among these three ways, practice is the best. Root verse: Do not view any action with wrong views. Most of the powerful ones in the noble land are like that. Outcastes, lowly ones, sinful ones, and ordinary behaviors. There are those who are even more fallen than fallen. Before one's own mind is controlled, the fault of judging mistakes is immeasurable. The monk Star Good, who was proficient in the twelve divisions of scripture, fell due to the power of sin. Seeing the Teacher's actions as deceitful. Think well and deceive yourself. This means that, unlike other places, in the excellent Indian Vajra Throne, the seat of a thousand Buddhas, the source of the sacred Dharma, the wise and accomplished powerful ones who have passed, are present, and will come in the three times, most of them abide in rough behavior, some are in the four castes, without acceptance or rejection of clean and unclean, behaving lowly, or behaving basely, or diligently engaging in sinful actions such as killing, or not abandoning ordinary behaviors such as commerce and farming, therefore, even if they fall from the four root vows of discipline, there are those who do not protect them at all and are extremely fallen. However, their actions are unfixed according to what needs to be tamed, and are for the benefit of taming beings. Before one's own mind is controlled,
