Obtaining unbearable suffering is not caused by any ghosts or spirits, but by sins alone. This needs to be emphasized and explained. Among them, the important rough contents are as follows: Sins are very powerful, killing parents and Arhats is one, creating division in the Sangha is two, drawing blood from the Buddha's body with malicious intent, like Devadatta throwing stones when the Buddha was alive in the past, and destroying Buddha statues etc. nowadays, are the five heinous crimes. The five crimes close to these are: destroying stupas, killing Bodhisattvas, engaging in impure conduct with Arhat nuns, killing noble learners, and preventing respect for monks. The four heavy offenses are: looking down on the wise, looking down on the offerings to monks, looking down on the food of practitioners, and looking down on the objects of mantra practitioners. Similarly, breaking worldly vows, breaking the vows of Shravakas, breaking the precepts of Bodhisattvas, and breaking the vows of secret mantras are all heavy offenses. Furthermore, due to ignorance, disparaging the body of the teacher; due to arrogance, disparaging the virtues of the wise; due to jealousy, disparaging the words of truth; and due to bias, arguing about the Dharma. Among the five heinous crimes, drawing blood and wrong view among the ten non-virtuous actions are the most serious. Disparaging the equal Dharma and emphasizing things without inherent existence. Each of these is called the heavy offense of evil, degeneration, slander, and denial. The eight evils are: belittling virtue and praising sin, disturbing the minds of virtuous people, breaking up the assemblies of faithful people, abandoning the Guru, Yidam, Dharma brothers, etc., which are seven, and destroying mandalas, etc., which are eight. All these are inconceivable faults based on Bodhisattvas. In short, monks who despise the results of karma, such as Devadatta, Lekshe, Drigung Palchen, etc., fell into hell from the cracking earth, which is obvious. In the past, in the land of China, there was a person who slandered the results of karma and turned into a snake while sleeping in bed, and so on. There are many such examples, so do not rely solely on heard views and meditation, and trample on cause and effect with rough behavior. This is repeating after the teachings of the Guru, not what I have seen with my own eyes.

In short, it is said that in all circumstances, it is very important to be skilled in distinguishing between good and evil with meticulous self-discipline. Generally, there are two kinds of noble beings: those who do not commit downfalls and those who remedy them afterward. That is, to generate strong remorse from the bottom of one's heart for any non-virtuous deeds done previously, this is the power of eradication; relying on the excellent Three Jewels and the Lama, striving to confess from the bottom of one's heart any non-virtuous deeds done previously, this is the power of reliance; remembering previous misdeeds, fearing the ripening of karmic results, and using the three doors of body, speech, and mind for Dharma, this is the power of constantly applying antidotes. The power of turning away from wrongdoing is: even if a mountain of wealth is piled up to entice one to do evil and abandon the Three Jewels, or if one is certain to be killed immediately if one does not do good and abandon evil, one will certainly make the unwavering choice to engage in virtue and refrain from evil. If one does this, even having committed the five heinous crimes can be purified. Previously, the Teacher's brother, named Delight (Dga' bo), was very attached to women and did not keep Dharma in mind. The Brahmin Angulimala, due to the instigation of an evil teacher, did not listen to the teachings of doing good and killed nine hundred and ninety-nine people. Devadatta or Ajatashatru, due to great hatred and the influence of evil friends, killed his father, King Bimbisara, the Dharma King. Ajatashatru's son, Sukhapala, was killed for preventing him from abandoning his own wife and engaging in adultery with another's wife. Know that all of these were purified through confession, as is known from the pure scriptures. The root is: Therefore, in the state of impure other-poweredness, the ten virtuous paths of action that lead to higher realms, turning away from the ten non-virtuous actions, one should truly cultivate the ten virtuous actions. By cultivating these, with the corresponding ten shares of merit, one is led to happy migrations, and with the ten non-virtuous actions, one is led to bad migrations; the choice of what to adopt and abandon regarding the cause and effect of black and white karma is the path of the lesser being. This is what is said in the scriptures of the Yogacara school. The completely imputed is: like a rabbit's horn, the child of a barren woman, flowers in the sky, the self of phenomena and persons, in short, those that do not exist in the realm of things but are apprehended by the mind as existing. In other-poweredness, there is also impure other-poweredness, which is the five elements.
