Although those who possess these conditions are the three evil destinies, the army of the ten virtues is numerous and powerful. In the land held by the hero, there are no camps established for the battlefield of evil destinies. However, all those who have broken the vows of individual liberation, the bodhisattva vows, and the tantric vows are under your (referring to evil destinies) control. So, what are the faults that arise from breaking vows in the past? It's like the former royal lineage Rinchen Drak who gave up the precepts in order to stay at home, and some monks who now like to return to lay life. Those who commit suicide out of anger are like the heretic Samaga Acharya (Sanskrit Devanagari: सामगा आचार्य, Sanskrit Romanization: sāmagā ācārya, Chinese literal meaning: Samaga Acharya); those who practice asceticism out of jealousy are like the monk Devadatta; those who abandon shame out of desire are like the merchant's daughter; those who abandon modesty out of selfishness are like the king's son of virtuous conduct. There are many similar situations now, so there is no need to say more. In short, in this world, some people are willing to give up their lives for the sake of evil, but are stingy to give even land and water for the sake of virtue. This fault causes the land of evil destinies to be as numerous as the dust on the earth, while the good destinies are as few as the dust on a fingernail. Therefore, one should carefully measure and strive to practice virtue and abandon evil. Root text: For the sake of the object of offering, relatives, retinue, and subjects, and to protect the country, even if one indulges in powerful evil, one cannot share its karmic results. This means that the characteristic of evil is that its karmic result is huge, like the image of an elephant; and the determination to abandon evil is like being entangled and indulged by ropes, that is, acting recklessly. Whether one commits evil for oneself or for others, the karmic result can only be borne by the perpetrator himself, and cannot be shared. In particular, the sublime Three Jewels, as the object of offering, are sure to love all beings like a loving mother loves her only child. If one kills living beings to make offerings to the Three Jewels, or steals others' possessions to make offerings, it can only be the cause of creating evil, and there is no benefit. Because advocating killing as dharma is the doctrine of barbarians. Similarly, committing evil for one's own relatives is also the same. Monggalam (transliteration) committed many evil deeds such as stinginess for the sake of her family and son, as a result, she herself fell into evil destinies, her son attained the Arhatship, and her husband was reborn in the Brahma realm.

Furthermore, engaging in large-scale conflicts such as warfare to protect retinues and territories, only becomes beneficial to others if the actor possesses the skillful means of Bodhicitta. If it is solely for self-preservation, it is a great sin. Although the act of sin is not immediately cut off like a sword, the consequences of sin will manifest at the time of death and after death. Thus it is stated in the commentary. Root verse: Craving gain and solely desiring pleasure, delighting in praise and becoming arrogant when praised; from this one thing, the other four arise; these children are deceived by worldly dharmas. This means that the eight worldly dharmas, which are contrary to the sacred Dharma, are as follows: hoping for and craving food, wealth, and other gains; being attached to pleasure; enjoying pleasant words; and becoming arrogant when praised—these are four. If gains are not obtained, one becomes dejected; if discomfort arises, one suffers; if unpleasant words are heard, one regrets; and if criticized, one becomes angry—these four combined make eight, and these eight inevitably deceive children. Therefore, it is crucial not to mistake what to accept and reject. In summary, regarding the conceptual thoughts arising from the eight worldly dharmas, one should be equally disposed, without delighting in the first four, such as gaining profit, and disliking the latter four, such as not gaining profit. Root verse: Boasting of lineage, appearance, power, and so on, exalting oneself; hiding in the shadow of the lazy and crippled; and those who arouse manifest pride, they become demons who hate the glory of asceticism. With the firm power of a covetous mind, with the vine of deceit that overwhelms, even if one deludes others and protects oneself, that great harm enters within oneself. This means that pride in lineage, appearance, power, learning, youth, etc., is a general term encompassing arrogance and conceit. Because of these faults, one praises oneself and, far from striving in listening, contemplating, and meditating, one becomes weary of eating, sleeping, and resting. Due to laziness, the three doors of body, speech, and mind become lax, the six consciousnesses are indulged, and one becomes immersed in superficial Dharma, like a cripple hiding behind a disabled person, uninterested in anything.
