After going for a short while, it took about a month. Finally, when I returned to the monastery, I handed the thief over to the stonemason chief, but he was not punished at all. Instead, he received a good reward, which made me very unhappy, and I made some complaints. However, I temporarily suppressed my anger and gave preliminary guidance to some monks, and also gave pulse-wind guidance to some others. I also gave empowerments and transmissions of all the teachings and treasures of the master. At that time, the son of Chokor Sonam Phen was born, and although he was only eleven months old, he repeatedly said that he was going to the stonemason lama. When he arrived, I gave him some long-life empowerments and sent him away. While staying at the monastery there, the people of Upper Stone sided with the thief and harassed us in various ways, not allowing us to stay. Because of this, some families of the deceased left in advance. When we went up a few days later, what happened? The Katok monastery's patron Yangdak and two attendants arrived, carrying the documents of the King of Sa, the letter from Dege (Seda) Dharma King Rinpoche, and the letter from Dzogchen's Kyabje Kuchen Rinpoche. The main point of the message was: I have no way not to come, you must come no matter what. Saying this, along with the messenger, we and some people who were sending us off were about to set off when the old uncle and all the influential people said that in the future, we must share the joys and sorrows with them, and we must not give up in our hearts, this is real. Either go down together, or wherever you are, wherever you go, you must go and stay with him, everyone swore like this. They took responsibility, and said that I also had to take such an oath. There was no way to avoid it, so finally we set off and spent the night in front of Sertod Drongri Smukpo (place name). There, the next morning, we made a grand smoke offering, and that night we spent the night there. Various wonderful dreams occurred. The next morning, we set off and gradually advanced along the road. When we arrived in Snikok, the uncles had a family dispute and killed an influential person. They said they were coming to seek refuge and had to come. Saying this, the influential people said, Lama, be merciful, their family cherishes and loves this person very much, but he died in such a bad way. Please do careful Phowa, etc., and ask that you do not underestimate your compassion.

Therefore, I said, you two sides have no major reason to engage in feuds, yet you do such things. Previously, you killed each other, resulting in the deaths of more than ten people and livestock, which is really very bad. If this cruel feud is not stopped, it will lead to family destruction and death, and so on. So please don't say these things anymore. We can only pray for mercy for the deceased. They did not commit murder or harm, which is the real truth, and so on. They said a lot. I myself think that your family has not found a lama, so you can only rely on me alone, right? You can go and find other lamas, that would be fine. If you can guarantee to stop this feud, I will definitely perform religious ceremonies. Otherwise, I will leave right now. They used a very painful way to entrust the litigation to me. Finally, they asked what kind of religious ceremonies I needed. During the offering, they again mentioned the litigation, saying that if it is certain that the matter can be placed between us and there will be no mistakes, they will accept the offerings. If not, our pure goodwill and sincerity will be more helpful to the deceased, so we will definitely not accept the offerings. After hearing this, they were different from before, saying that they would try their best to do it, and then they swore an oath and accepted the offerings. There, there was a very famous gun made of silver ingots. As soon as it was offered, they had it smashed, and everyone was surprised. Afterwards, together with the officials of Der-shu (place name) and some of the tribal leaders, they helped mediate the litigation, which was successfully mediated in about ten days. We also left smoothly and went to Zhuo-chong (place name) to handle affairs, because time was tight, but we encountered heavy snow, which caused some obstacles. However, the nephew Ngagwang (person's name) of Gyarong (place name) and many officials and servants came to greet us. They set up tents by the hot springs at the beginning of the month. We unloaded our luggage, soaked in the hot springs, and then went to Ri-kyong Monastery (place name) in Gyarong (place name). We received a grand welcome and hospitality, such as with an honor guard. There, in the Labrang (residence of the monastery leader), we offered a good copper pot, as well as twenty-five taels of silver, a riding horse, musical instruments, some silks, and other items within our means. We offered one tael of silver to the monks for the longevity ceremony. According to their wishes, we performed the auspicious Vajra empowerment and other rituals for some attendants. We received great help in all aspects, and then went to the mother monastery.
