If it is said that this is the cause, then it is very important to diligently maintain mindfulness and awareness, based on the practice of the precious mind of bodhicitta with the agreement of the three doors (body, speech, and mind). The reason for explaining this repeatedly is to suit the practice of a fool. When I myself first started practicing diligently in places like Rogtom Snow Mountain, for about a hundred days, I only used mindfulness to restrain my mind. At first, even for just a moment, there were many times of distraction, and it seemed impossible not to be distracted. I made rules for myself and used methods to restrain myself from being controlled by distraction. Gradually, subtle thoughts became less and less. Even when distracted, it was not complete darkness, but sometimes clear and sometimes blurred, like being covered by an eye disease. In the old stories, it is said that a Brahmin would put a white stone when a virtuous thought arose and a black stone when an evil thought arose. At first, it was all black stones, then gradually half black and half white, and finally all white stones. Like this, even just for the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, I diligently restrained my mindfulness. Like the saying, "If a snake coils around you, your hands and feet will be visible," somehow, my body, like an aggregate of the five skandhas, became ill, and I felt unbearable suffering in my mind. Moreover, in the three times of past, present, and future, whatever enemies, disputes, illnesses, death, and disasters had happened or would happen, various thoughts came like a hailstorm. It was impossible to go even a little bit astray on the path of distraction. It was like seeing with my own eyes, close to a state of mental derangement. At that time, due to the appearance of very frightening images and sounds, I instantly encountered the stainless essence of self-awareness, and all grasping and being grasped, acceptance and rejection, hope and fear, vanished like thick darkness suddenly clearing. This is also an unhidden display of the signs of experiencing only mindfulness. If you practice diligently, it is impossible not to have signs. If you are determined, even in a short time, you will surely be able to make your own decisions. Although I encourage you in this way, if someone thinks, "Who knows what your realization is?", it would be like the Buddha himself appearing and dispelling doubts, and there would be no room for even a hair's breadth of doubt. It would be like a child being separated from their parents for a few days and suddenly reuniting with them, there would be no doubt. Therefore, the continuous stream of evil thoughts generated by attachment and aversion...

If one only emphasizes the virtuous actions of body and speech superficially, it is like dismounting from a horse to ride a donkey, as the previous great masters have said. If one does not correctly understand the saying, "It is comfortable not to correct the mind," one will cut off the past lineage and welcome future expectations. As the fence of mindfulness gradually disappears, various evil thoughts and illusions will arise along with it. Although one strives to recite mantras, due to the indulgence of evil thoughts, it will only become the cause of laziness. Should one abandon mindfulness itself and enter into meditation? Mindfulness is called the wheel of wisdom, and it is crucial not to separate from it. At that time, regarding the ways of relaxing and restraining during meditation sessions: Jetsun Götsangpa, Kongpo Dzogchenpa, the meditation community of Gampo, and their gurus generally share the same view. However, our own way, during meditation sessions, only emphasizes prohibiting activities such as making fire and fetching water, as well as restricting travel, without understanding what meaning and result this has. The use of the bone flute as a signal occurs only once. That is, when the sun rises very high, the morning meditation is concluded, and it ends before noon. Food and drink should not be consumed as usual, but should be accompanied by the ritual of the Tsog offering wheel. At that time, one can slightly look at the Dohas of past accomplished masters, etc., to generate joy. Even if some uninterrupted prayers are recited, the bone flute signal should be issued immediately, and the meditation should be concluded like the morning meditation, with a moderate length of time. After lunch, perform the offering of Torma, offerings, and generosity, and then enjoy the daily meals. The activities during the meditation break should always be grasped with mindfulness. When the eastern sunlight sets in the west, the meditation leader recites a small amount of the Great Compassion Mantra with great compassion, and prays for the living and the dead. If everything goes well, a conch shell is blown once. All practitioners should give the commitment of prayer. Finally, at the end of three or one times of the profound instructions, like in the "As Seen Tantra," recite the reversal mantra three times and blow the conch shell and play musical instruments, then issue the Ting-shak signal, and finally perform the red offering, which has the same meaning as pacification and Chöd, as well as equal taste. Therefore, whatever dualistic thoughts arise, such as good and bad, clean and dirty, gods and demons, especially obstacles such as enemies, disputes, gossip, the king's punishment, and the afflictions based on the five poisons and three poisons, are the karma of thought, and the eighty-four thousand that arise from it, etc.
