Om Svasti Siddhi. Bound by the circle that guides all arising, adorned with a thousand radiant spokes of ascetic wisdom, the supreme sovereign who turns the wheel of skillful means, may the King of Dharma of Oddiyana bestow auspiciousness. The essence of nectar from the immeasurable ocean of glory and virtue, completely filled like an inexhaustible treasury of space, raining down both attainments upon those who can be tamed, may the blessings of the assembly of early translation masters and siddhas be bestowed. The depth and breadth of wisdom are immeasurable, from the great treasure of loving-kindness and compassion, may the thousand rays of light of well-emerged blessings and power shine forth, and may the lotus garden of the practice lineage's teachings blossom. Although there are infinite ways to enter the supreme Ati path, according to one's superior or inferior capacity, here, for those who possess good fortune and faith, I will explain the necessity of practice, conduct, and behavior. Thus, after a brief introduction with verses, what is to be discussed is that in the practice center of Shechen Tennyi Dargyeling, in the newly established Pema Oling, the great yogi who first erected the victory banner of practice, the great master of the profound and secret Vajrayana, Lhopa Tenzin Chökyi Gyalpo, it would not have been appropriate for me to write the practice of the rules, but because he issued a decree, like binding a golden crown on my head, I could not refuse, so I have written down a little of what suits my own mind, the general summary is:" }, { "original_tibetan": "སྡིག་པ་ཅི་ཡང་མི་བྱ་ཞིང་། །དགེ་བ་ཕུན་སུམ་ཚོགས་པར་སྤྱད། །རང་གི་སེམས་ནི་ཡོངས་སུ་དུལ། །འདི་ནི་སངས་རྒྱས་བསྟན་པ་ཡིན། །ཞེས་གསུངས་པས། རྐང་པ་དང་པོའི་ཉེས་སྤྱོད་སྡོམ་པ། གཉིས་པས་དགེ་བ་ཆོས་སྡུད། གསུམ་པས་སེམས་ཅན་དོན་བྱེད་དེ། སོ་ཐར་གྱི་དང་པོ་དགེ་བསྙེན་ལའང་། འདུལ་བ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་སྙིང་པོར། སྣ་ཅིག་སྣ་འགའ་ཕལ་ཆེར་སྤྱོད། ཡོངས་རྫོགས་སྤྱོད་དང་ཚངས་སྤྱོད་དང་། སྐྱབས་འགྲོ་ཙམ་གྱི་དགེ་བསྙེན་བཅས། ཞེས་སོགས་མང་དུ་གསུངས་ཀྱང་། ཡོངས་རྫོགས་སྡོམ་ལྡན་གྱི་སྤང་བྱ། རྩ་བཞི་ཆང་དང་ལྔའོ། །སྐྱབས་འགྲོ་ཁོ་ནའི་སྡོམ་ལྡན་གྱི། སྤང་བྱ་གསུམ་བསྒྲུབ་བྱ་གསུམ་ཆ", "chinese_translation": "诸恶莫作,众善奉行,自净其意,是诸佛教。 , "english_translation": "Do no evil, cultivate perfect virtue, and completely tame one's own mind. This is the teaching of the Buddha. As it is said, the first line is to restrain from misdeeds, the second is to gather virtue and Dharma, and the third is to benefit sentient beings. Even for the first of the Pratimoksha vows, the Upasaka, it is the same. In the Essence of the Ocean of Vinaya, it says: 'One or a few or mostly practice, complete practice and celibacy, and even Upasakas who only take refuge.' Although many things are said, what should be abandoned by those who hold the complete vows are the four root vows and alcohol as the fifth. For those who only hold the refuge vows, there are three things to abandon and three things to accomplish." } ] ============================================================

Based on the principle of practicing without confusing what should be adopted and abandoned, a novice who has not yet received full ordination is a Śrāmaṇera. Among the two types of Bhikṣus, the former (Śrāmaṇera)'s abandonment includes: abandoning refuge, disrespecting teachers, accepting the signs of householders, and abandoning the signs of renunciates. The latter (fully ordained Bhikṣu) adds to the four root vows (drinking alcohol) and the five precepts: dancing, garlands, bedding, high seats, untimely food, and accepting gold and silver, totaling ten. Adding the four of the Śrāmaṇera to these makes fourteen. There are thirty-six branches arising from these root vows, divided into groups of four, totaling forty. Among the five categories of offenses for Bhikṣus, the first is the four Pārājikas: engaging in impure conduct means experiencing pleasure by engaging with the genitals or any part of the body of males, females, hermaphrodites, animals, etc. Taking what is not given means stealing, measured as one-fourth of a Karsha-pana in India, and in Tibet, it is set at four and a half khals of grain depending on the presence or absence of famine. Killing means killing humans or fetuses, etc., with drugs, mantras, etc. Lying is something only a lama can use, i.e., pretending to be superior to others without having the three studies of hearing, contemplation, and meditation, the qualities of discipline, supernatural powers, and accomplishments, in order to deceive others. On top of these are the thirteen Saṃghāvaśeṣas, the thirty Niḥsargika Pāyantikas, the ninety Śuddha Pāyantikas, the four Prātideśanīyas, and the one hundred and twelve Duṣkṛtas. Because it is taught that one cannot cover up with tantric practices and must strive to adopt and abandon as much as possible, the precepts are established. Therefore, even if a beginner only understands the essence, it is hoped that it will be helpful to make it slightly easier to understand the adoption and abandonment of guarding the precepts. However, most of those who claim to be Nyingmapas immediately feel ashamed when they hear the teachings of the three precious baskets (Tripiṭaka). Just as one cannot reach the top floor of a house in one step without gradually climbing stairs, etc., if one enters the gate of Dzogchen and tries to compete with those who have attained mastery, they are certainly charlatans selling the Dharma, so one must not let evil run rampant. The preliminary practices for the Bodhisattva's training are the four immeasurables, and the main practice is the aspiration Bodhicitta and the engaging Bodhicitta.
