Like rain clouds always filled, precious wealth, no matter how much is accumulated, is nothing more than a source of suffering; and the fewer possessions one has, the more one avoids enemies, thieves, and harm. Therefore, contentment is the path to reaching the pinnacle of perfect wealth. The nature of each individual is like that of a child; children are a gathering of clouds of non-virtuous misdeeds, therefore they praise themselves by various means, and spread bad words about others through direct or indirect means, controlled by the five poisons and the three poisons, relying on the rough demeanor and behavior like a snake's tongue. Power and wealth are impermanent and fluctuating, yet they think everything is eternal. They do not appreciate acts of great kindness, and distort the image of satisfaction with displeased expressions. With malicious intent, the tiny flames of hatred are fanned by the wind, inflicting various harms like monkeys; like crocodiles, the belly of sin and non-virtuous deeds is wide and can accommodate everything; the cherishing of vows is minimal, like a venomous viper, destroying whoever it encounters; like fire, it will burn down the trees of virtue. If these faults are gathered, then keeping a distance from childish companions is crucial. The five objects of desire that are craved are worse than poison, because their fruition is harsh. Although under the drive of craving, the brief enjoyment seems delicious, this is not limited to this lifetime alone, but in all generations, even the supreme secret mantras and three hundred and sixty kinds of medicines etc. cannot cure and are difficult to correct. Therefore, until the elephant of one's mind is tamed, there is no greater deceptive illusion than the greatness of the five objects of desire. Placing this tangible body in the vessel of actions, until the three elements of fire, water, and earth etc. have not caused it to dissipate, the peaceful forest clearing is the secluded forest valley and cave. Therefore, remote areas and nomadic lands are not places where people usually reside, they are pleasant, and can increase renunciation, staying far away from commerce, agriculture, and sinful friends etc. Taxes etc. that make the body weary

There is no cawing of crows, nor do birds and wild animals utter any unpleasant sounds. Clear springs and abundant fruit trees are readily available, and the rock caves and leaf-built houses are spacious and comfortable. Resting in the shade of trees is extremely pleasant. How I wish I could live here soon! With such anticipation in my heart, I am filled with joy. In that place, the forests, where the new guests of the four seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—show off the changes and manifestations of color and beauty, do not take it for granted that they are free from afflictions, but rather, fearing noise, they take seven steps towards solitude. Behold the scene of proclaiming merit. Wherever it is, meditation is extremely stable and firm, which is the characteristic of higher training in mind. If 'dependent arising' is integrated into the body, realization will arise in the mind. The sole means and ritual for that is to focus on that equipoise, which is neither one nor two, with the mind as its life force, in the posture that possesses the seven features of Vairochana. Whatever the object of focus, that is, by means of the method of focusing the mind and the manner of examination, bind the mind's consciousness to virtuous objects. When abiding in that state, all appearances of elaboration dissolve into the nature of reality, and although the field of appearance has not ceased, there is no clinging to it. That is to say, when consciousness does not conceptualize external objects and abides in the nature of equipoise, even if waves of thoughts arise, it will not be disturbed; this is subsequent insight. If distinguished, there are three types of meditation: the meditation of children playing, the meditation of distinguishing meaning, and the meditation of the Tathagata's goodness. The first dhyana has both investigation and analysis, the second has investigation but no analysis, the third has analysis but no investigation, and the fourth has neither investigation nor analysis; these are the fourfold meditations. Similarly, there are also four formless absorptions, namely: the sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, the sphere of nothingness, and the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception; these are their numbers. The power of samadhi in the mindstream of those who have not yet entered the path is the accumulation of merit, offering upwards and giving downwards.
