Although suppressed by the vine of deceit with a stingy mind, and skilled in bewildering others to protect oneself, the great harm that obstructs liberation and omniscience is what enters into oneself. In samsara, actions, both virtuous and non-virtuous, have two results: even from a small seed, a large fruit can grow to maturity. Who can surpass me? What grows on the head was once a child. Just as offering a handful of beans to the Buddha Dipamkara (梵文:Dīpaṃkara) resulted in seven beans falling into his alms bowl, leading to the karmic result of becoming a golden wheel-turning king. If a tree with seeds as small as mustard seeds, like the fruit of the Ashoka tree, is planted in the ground and time passes, each branch can grow to a yojana in length, so it is impossible to use this as an example of the growth of virtuous and non-virtuous actions. Whether virtuous or non-virtuous, even without action, there can be happiness and suffering that are not self-existent, arising from various motivations colored by black and white thoughts. Whether the action is virtuous or non-virtuous in the immediate term, its result will eventually become powerful. Before committing evil, accompanied by hatred and anger, leading to the act of killing; afterwards, without remorse for the evil committed, but rather rejoicing in it, if these two are not present, the power is weak. If the root is a beneficial medicine, then the sprout is also medicine; if the root is poison, then the sprout is also poison, what need is there to say more? The meaning is that the origin of good and bad, whether virtuous or non-virtuous, does not depend on the size of its appearance, so it is necessary to know the difference of whether it is held by the three supreme qualities. Thus, when committing evil, having a mind of permanence, being attached and fixated in the mind, and without the antidote of remorse, and relying on sins committed with a virtuous (梵文:guṇa viśiṣṭa, गुण विशिष्ट) guru, khenpo, or bodhisattva as the main object, and engaging in misconduct towards parents and benefactors from the root, the virtuous actions based on these five types of actions are powerful and the sins are heavy, while others that are not so are somewhat lighter. This is the well-spoken wisdom of what to adopt and abandon. It is the basis of all samsara.

The ground of all, which is unindicated as neither virtuous nor non-virtuous, is the basis of ignorance. And the mind that grasps externally to it, such as attachment and hatred, and the consciousness of the five objects, which arises from the five sense doors. However, pervading all of these is the great demon of innate and imputed ignorance. Attachment, hatred, and ignorance, these three poisons, are grasped as self, causing the high and low states of cyclic existence. If fire burns and consumes all things, then there is nothing other than water that can act as its antidote. Selling representations of body, speech, and mind as merchandise, and taking oaths by setting them as witnesses, etc., deceiving and abandoning the Three Jewels, there is no sin that can compare to that great evil deed. Other than that, the various conceptualizations of beings, the karmas of mind and mental factors that are naturally connected, although there are countless minds that cannot exhaust them, just as body, speech, and mind have a basis and what is based on it, the causes and effects to be abandoned abide in ten aspects. Among them, the three of the body are killing, stealing, and sexual misconduct. First, killing is intentionally taking the life of other beings, primarily non-humans, while being conscious. And harming by striking with sticks, imprisoning, etc. Stealing is taking what is not given while knowing it is another's property. And using false scales and measures, using deceit and trickery to obtain. Sexual misconduct is giving inappropriate contact to prostitutes and others who receive payment in large marketplaces and other places. And other behaviors that should not be engaged in, such as being overwhelmed by sorrow, not yet awakened, during menstruation, being in a fasting period, underage girls, etc.
