Ten perfections. These eight leisures, once lost, are hard to find again. This is an analogy for the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment. That is to say, the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment is: Why is it said to be like a turtle's neck not meeting the hole in a yoke? This is clear in the teaching texts. The difficulty of obtaining it in terms of numbers is: humans and animals, distinguished by the stars of day and night, and so many hungry ghosts and hell beings, added together in sequence, can also be understood. Therefore, this great ship of leisure, in this time when this body is not yet abandoned by the power of life, if you do not cross to the other shore of the great ocean of suffering of samsara, many will appear like guests on the path of Dharma of Sutra and Tantra. If you want to cross to the other side of the water but do not seek opportunities to accomplish things, you are inclined to engage in fruitless listening, so you must abandon distraction and laziness and generate diligence in the Dharma. This is the concise commentary on the first chapter of The Treasury of Precious Qualities.

Due to faults, there is the saying, "When punishment is inflicted, seven suns and one water will come," meaning that besides the current sun, six other suns will appear together, and this one sun has the heat difference of seven suns. In any case, the solar disc, like a great fire, with unbearable heat, will burn all the substances of this world made of earth and water, leaving nothing behind, not even a sesame seed. Immediately afterwards, the great water wheels above and below will violently stir and agitate, completely eliminating the ashes and other remnants of the fire, as salt dissolves in water. Then, the lower wind wheel, the vajra cross, will rise and agitate, completely destroying the remaining elements, leaving not even a speck of dust, transforming the world into the nature of a single empty space. Thus, in general, the impermanence of the external container world and the internal sentient beings is briefly explained. In particular, the fourth teacher Shakyamuni Buddha, known as the teacher of gods and humans, and the thousand Buddhas of the fortunate aeon, although they have attained the vajra body that has exhausted all faults and perfected all virtues, they manifest nirvana in order to refute the view of permanence. That is, in order to show impermanence, they show that the service free from destruction gradually slackens, and in the peaceful realm of dharma, in the pure lands of the enjoyment body and the dharma body, they abide, displaying joyous realization. The saying "After meditation is accomplished" is also because the seventeen abodes of the form realm, that is, the pure five abodes of the fruits of the first, second, third, and fourth dhyanas, etc., are created, so they mostly exist for eighty thousand kalpas. Even if they obtain the burden of maintaining such a long life, when the cause of birth there is exhausted, the virtuous result becomes meaningless, and they die individually. Seeing this, other gods, such as Brahma, Indra, Well-born, and the wheel-turning king, although they cannot endure suffering, do not seek a way to escape from the Lord of Death, Mara, and must die helplessly. In particular, human beings are like the medicinal land of the heavens, in a pleasant place full of various medicinal trees and flowers, where herds of wild animals live happily, the lives of the flourishing beings...

Constantly thinking of mercilessly seizing life, the hunter seeking opportunities, the messenger of Yama holding a club, thinks of nothing other than the initial pursuit. Just like black and white things, when the local temperature becomes extremely high in the hot summer, people like the bright moonlight of autumn and envy it, which is foolish. They do not know that the passage of days and nights has become a fault of their own lives. There is not the slightest fear in their hearts for such a situation, this is the manifestation of fools. Even things created by the effort of human hands, arrows are fast. However, the hungry ghosts crawling on the ground are faster than those stationary objects, faster than those flying in the air, faster than the sun, moon, and gods, and faster than all of these is the passing of human life. People, even when they reach adulthood, are afflicted by the punishment of aging. When the four elements of wind, bile, and phlegm are in balance, there are few diseases, but when these four elements are disturbed, they are troubled by diseases. Worldly wealth and enjoyment, etc., even if most manifest as highly developed through dependent origination, will be destroyed by decay. Whether the time is ripe or not, death will come quickly, attacking life without delay. When at that time, defeated in the battlefield of Yama and facing death, that person is like running towards a cliff without protectors and allies, and can only helplessly wander in the bardo. At that time, he loses the vitality of life and the functions of the senses, the eyes cannot see, the ears cannot hear, the nose cannot smell, the tongue cannot taste, and the body cannot feel touch, so it is said to be completely lost. Even if medicine is ineffective, doctors and other rituals are of no avail, and they can only helplessly flee. Previously, people could work with their hands and walk with their feet, but now the limbs become slow, and the breath is involuntarily shaken and driven by force. When relatives and friends surround the bedside, tormented by suffering, they still grasp him with the hook of undying prayers, hoping he can hold on.
