In explaining the very nature of emptiness as it appears, even within the illusory appearances, many pure and impure phenomena arise suddenly. These are the magical displays of the mind, which, though non-existent in reality, appear as if they exist, akin to the nature of dreams, and are apprehended through conceptual imputation. This is because one has not seen the true face of reality, nor remained in its natural state. Due to the faults of thought and analysis, four extremes arise: the extreme of existence, the extreme of non-existence, the extreme of permanence, and the extreme of annihilation. Even if one does not abide in these four extremes, clinging to the middle way is not wise. As it is said, 'like a silkworm,' just as a silkworm, unskilled in unraveling its threads, binds its own hands and feet with the silk it produces from its mouth. This refers to attachment to one's own philosophical tenets. In this land of Tibet, many self-serving philosophical systems have arisen, which, under the guise of aiding the Buddha's teachings, actually cause harm, like binding oneself. Therefore, the Buddha prophesied that neither heretics nor non-Buddhists could destroy my teachings, but a monk like myself would destroy them due to certain circumstances. Thus, although there are many phenomena fabricated by conceptual thought in this world, in reality, there is no arising, ceasing, abiding, going, or coming. They are neither the same nor different, neither permanent nor impermanent. One should understand that the nature of pacifying all the elaborations of the three times (past, present, and future) is the very essence of wisdom born from thought. The objects of appearance, namely the five elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space, are the great elements. Mountains, forests, tiered houses, and so forth, which arise in dependence upon them, are all born from compounded causes. Therefore, samsara is interdependent origination. Why is this so? Because the beginning of samsara is grasped by ignorance, followed by action, consciousness, name and form, the six sense sources, contact, feeling, craving, grasping, becoming, birth, aging, sickness, and death. Thus, one depends on another, sequentially connected until old age and death, which is known as internal interdependent origination. The interdependent origination of liberation from suffering exists in both the path and the fruit. The path is the interdependent origination of samsara.

Because it is so, entering the stream of the twelve links of dependent origination, or rather, the great darkness of ignorance of the twelve links of dependent origination, is reversed by the great light of wisdom, so that other dependent originations such as action are also reversed from the stream, becoming the cutting off of the root of existence. Therefore, a person who sees the faults of the stream of the twelve links of dependent origination and the qualities of reversing from the stream should know the truth of suffering, abandon the origin, rely on the path, realize the cessation, and thus see the supreme path. Thus, all phenomena appearing in delusion, in the state of non-arising, are ascertained by thought, and their nature is the unchanging Dharma nature of knowing the nature of mind, and abiding in this is known as meditative wisdom. Its nature is one taste mixed with the meaning of meditating on the pure realm of space. Therefore, if one mentally blocks the illusions of samsara, such as the five aggregates of form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, and the eight consciousnesses, thinking that they exist or do not exist, it is especially contradictory to wisdom itself. The nature of awareness is not a nihilistic emptiness, but is determined to be the treasury of the three bodies, four bodies, five bodies, etc., and all wisdoms. Because the nature is naturally pure, one should truly look at the nature of one's own mind in a true way, just becoming accustomed to the way of no seeing, and looking in the way of duality is only conventional truth. Thus, not wavering from the state of suchness is the best of meditation. Because in front of it, arrogant thoughts and all mental activities such as doubt will not exist. If one fully understands such wisdom, one will be liberated by various means, but without the means of wisdom, one cannot be liberated from bondage. Where emptiness and compassion both rely on the continuum, it is the great accumulation path. From the forbearance and supreme dharma of the path of joining downwards, in both meditative equipoise and subsequent attainment, emptiness is above and compassion is below, and the two appear inseparably. After attaining the path of seeing, emptiness and compassion become a union.
