May all aspirations be fulfilled. Furthermore, if one does not quickly cultivate strong diligence in Dharma practice, my life is like the end of a single day, it will not stay long, and the darkness of death will quickly approach. The conduct of samsara, that is, the suffering of the six realms of beings, is more numerous than the stars. If one is not weary of this, then like the turbidity of lazy water clearing up, the gentle flow of diligence, that is, the extreme of flowing in only one direction, will not reveal faults. Until one reaches the ocean of omniscience, the conduct of walking on the path to enlightenment, do not slacken the swaying and swift asceticism. The reasons and qualities of a solitary place are like this: the pleasant medicinal lands where forests and various flowers bloom are places frequented by extremely peaceful swans. Such a place is a lovely rocky valley, beautiful like a horse resting or young deer frolicking, places that do not delight the senses are few, and the delightful forest is like the girdle of a goddess. Like the half-net of a young cotton tree swaying, it is not that unpleasant sounds arise from fear, but cuckoos sing like messengers conveying letters of weariness with samsara. Go to that place where weariness and renunciation arise, this is specifically pointed out to those who wish to meditate. The perfect enjoyments of this world are like a curtain of gathered clouds, showing off within it. This is to show impermanence. Even faster than that, the lightning of the play of life is like a momentary flicker and tremble. Attacked by the suffering of change, the suffering of suffering, and the three sufferings of pervasive conditioning, like robbers seizing life, and like a noisy river bringing temporary and ultimate destruction. Constantly disturbed by the desire to accumulate, protect, and increase food, wealth, and possessions, and from this arise arrogance, stinginess, and miserliness, until life is exhausted. After that, one wanders in the endless ocean of suffering in the lower realms.
