Homage! Having thus abandoned, the path of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers of the middling person, knowing suffering, abandoning the origin, relying on the path, attaining cessation, that is, those who ride the chariot of the four truths, attain the state of cessation and nirvana, that is, they go to the supreme liberation, to the pure land of the Buddhas. The root of all superior and inferior bases and all dualistic dharmas, the co-emergent and imputed ignorance, from which arise actions, consciousness, name and form, from which are born and propagated the six senses, from which arise contact and from contact arises feeling. From this arises craving, from craving arises grasping, from this arises existence, from existence arises birth. As long as there is birth, there will be the suffering of not getting what one wants, as well as sorrow, sickness, old age, death, and other great aggregates of suffering. Therefore, if birth ceases, then all other dependent arisings of samsara will cease. This profound cause and effect of dependent arising is undoubtedly the treasure of the teachings of the Buddhas, the speakers of truth. Although this is so, from the high and low of conditioned existence, there are the ten virtuous deeds of meritorious actions, and the ten non-virtuous deeds of non-meritorious actions, the unwavering actions of the four concentrations and the four formless concentrations, etc. Transcending all these black and white cause and effect dharmas is the essence of peaceful nirvana, which arises from the realization of the unborn nature of reality. The concise commentary on the fourth chapter of The Treasury of Precious Qualities is complete. Chapter Five. Furthermore, whichever of the three vehicles one enters, one must engage in the three practices of hearing, contemplation, and meditation. Therefore, its object must be to abandon the assembly of unfavorable conditions and rely on those that are favorable. Therefore, one must abandon evil friends and childish friends, etc., and rely on noble beings who possess the glory of the three qualities of outer, inner, and secret, in order to obtain qualities. Good aspiration refers to the pursuit of liberation and the unerring acceptance and rejection of the causes and effects of merit, seeking refuge in the state of omniscience. These four are called the four great wheels, which the noble Nagarjuna considered to be very correct. Because afflictions have not diminished, in the midst of a group of those who appear to be sangha, who are merely wearing monastic robes, there is a fault like swallowing poisonous food.

If the elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space, the objects of the senses such as form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, and the transformations of the three causes of attachment, aversion, and ignorance become extremely intense, then it is very important to escape from these, or to prolong (the time), to be alone in a secluded place, to cherish the method of pacifying discursive thoughts, and to avoid busyness. If you are attached to wealth, then it is certain that no Dharma will easily go on the path. Without being attached to these, like the wind moving without obstruction, and the garuda soaring in the same way, and like wild animals not entering villages, abiding in solitude will not be disturbed by the careless behavior of the three doors of body, speech, and mind. If, on the contrary, you rely on tranquility, then you will protect the faces of others, be more concerned than yourself, be narrow-minded, and the courage to endure harm from others will certainly diminish. The mind is like an extremely cunning and venomous mouse, no matter how calm and careful it appears to be in its movements, it is untrustworthy. An evil friend who is skilled in unwholesome actions, through deceit and pretense, because his thoughts and actions are the same as his own, even if he pretends to be an object of reliance, even if he enjoys perfect possessions, it will certainly become a cause for quickly falling away from the Dharma. On the contrary, the example of non-attachment is like the sun and moon, which move lightly and illuminate in turn, being friendly to all and without enmity. If you always stay in one place, becoming familiar with everyone, high and low, those who have always lived there will be annoyed with each other due to the faults of familiarity, boredom, and burden, but seeing and hearing new places and people, gentle and friendly, becoming intimate and friendly with all others. Even if they make noise like sentient beings, repeating after others, even if they like good words and dislike bad words, like a rock, their minds do not move with them. Such behavior is that of those in whom dualistic grasping has vanished into the dharmadhatu. For such people, there are no vows of good or bad places and whether or not they are secluded. For those who practice celibacy, taking the Pratimoksha vows as their yidam, and for those who single-mindedly pursue samadhi, contemplating the meaning of meditation, whoever practices asceticism, whether or not their experience is stable, whether high or low, depends on the places and friends that give rise to attachment and aversion, and whether or not they are in accordance with the Dharma.
