The middling practice involves maintaining a state of contemplation on emptiness, recognizing illness as an illusion, and transforming it into an aid for practice through prayers for accumulating merit, purifying obscurations. The lower practice also involves incorporating the above-mentioned methods of transforming perceptions into one's own practice experience, and according to one's own understanding and acceptance, transforming illness into an aid for practice. Third, practicing the six perfections during illness is divided into six aspects. First, practicing generosity during illness: Although the appearances of samsara are impermanent, painful, and without self, I have failed to recognize this. Taking illness as an example, it symbolizes various kinds of suffering and is fleeting. Examining the body and mind, one finds that they are merely combinations of various elements, and there is no entity that can be called 'I.' However, I cling to 'I' and 'mine,' developing a strong attachment to this body, and therefore, the suffering of illness and other ailments arising from the body occurs. Now, I should visualize this body as an object desired by all sentient beings, especially diseases and demonic forces, and give it away to them without reservation.' One should repeatedly contemplate this in one's mind and repeatedly recite the visualization text for giving away the body, whether in brief or detailed versions. By doing so, one can temporarily eliminate illness and ultimately accumulate merit, perfect virtues, and become the supreme method for deceiving death. Furthermore, the 'Sutra of Destroying the Great Thousand Worlds' states: 'Those who possess profound and extremely stable wisdom, who contemplate the noble truths, and who think of giving away their bodies, will not encounter the eight fears.' Therefore, attachment to one's own body generates all afflictions and suffering, so one must relinquish attachment and become accustomed to the mind of generosity, which is the practice of generosity. Second, ethical discipline: Due to the torment of illness, the elements of the body change, and worldly pleasures also change accordingly. Therefore, one should become accustomed to making a firm commitment to rely on this naturally solitary state to practice pure ethical discipline. Third, patience: The suffering of illness is the result of one's past actions. If this suffering can ripen on me, and the suffering that all sentient beings are currently experiencing can also ripen on me, then I am willing to endure it. Fourth, diligence: Do not practice this mindset occasionally, but with constant reverence, don the armor of diligence, and make continuous effort. Fifth, meditation: When illness brings intense pain, do not forget to combine the practice of compassion with the contemplation of emptiness, and focus single-mindedly on this.

Ugyen Sherab said, 'When the Lama reveals the essential instructions for purifying illness, contemplate its meaning, and through meditation, recognize that all conventional illnesses, causes of illness, and states of illness are like illusions and dreams. In the ultimate truth, recognize that all the pain of illness is without arising, ceasing, or abiding, thereby transforming all pain into emptiness. And because this transformation naturally arises as great bliss, through illness, one can gain the benefit of realization, ultimately attaining the state of the three Kayas (Trikaya). Therefore, this method of transforming illness into the path is praised as an aid to achieving enlightenment.' Illness is not true illness, but rather abiding in the state of great bliss Dharmakaya. The yogi who realizes this, has no distinction between illness and non-illness. This was said by Ajita. Mangalam! Herein is the Guru Yoga relying on Jetsun Rigjyed Ma. From this time until the essence of enlightenment, I take refuge in the feet of Jetsun Arya. To liberate the boundless beings drowning in the ocean of suffering, I generate the supreme mind of enlightenment. In the center of the self-appearing pure and vast realm, in a delightful and wondrous emanation palace, upon a thousand-petaled lotus on the crown of my head, abides Jetsun Rigjyed Ma, the embodiment of the Three Refuges. She is red in color, radiant and bright, adorned with silk and precious jewels, holding the mudra of fearlessness, a bow and arrow, and an utpala (Tibetan: ཨུཏྤལ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: उत्पल, Sanskrit Romanization: utpala, Literal Chinese meaning: blue lotus). Seated in the vajra posture, blazing with the light of wisdom. She abides as the essence of all the Buddhas and their sons. Supplication: 'Emaho! Lama Jetsun Ma, you are the mother of all Buddhas, the illusory body of wisdom, the sole protector of all beings. Especially for those tormented by desire, parched and longing, you are the savior. Do not forget your past vows, please look upon us, these humble and pitiful ones, with your wisdom eyes, and comfort us with your compassionate hands, swiftly bless us, and grant us the siddhi of great bliss and freedom.' Pray from the depths of your heart, reciting: 'Lama Jetsun Kurukulle, please remember!' And recite as much as possible: Om Kurukulle Hrih Hum Svaha! Offer all enjoyments and phenomenal existence as a mandala of great bliss and freedom repeatedly in your mind, and pray. Finally, the Jetsun dissolves into light with great joy, entering from the crown of your head, merging into your heart center. The entire body is filled with the red nectar of great bliss, the mind merges with the wisdom of the Lama, abiding in the primordial nature – Ah! Afterward, again view all phenomenal existence as the manifestation of the Lama Jetsun Ma, dedicate the merit and make aspirations, and maintain the daily practice. Through this method, one will attain the siddhi of great bliss and freedom. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
