Are there distinctions between relative truth and ultimate truth? There are no distinctions. Secondly, the doubt that arises from not seeing the ultimate truth, and the dharma of having no doubt upon seeing it, in any case, since in reality there is no duality of truth and falsehood, one does not abandon the false and abide in the true. Why is that? Because in reality, the practitioner and the essence of the dharma to be realized are without inherent existence, therefore they do not exist. Who would have doubt about what? Therefore, one should not regard the dharma without doubt as supreme. Because the scriptures say that one should be attached to the dharma that is in accordance with the teachings and abandon hatred towards the dharma that is not in accordance with them. Thirdly, as shown above, if one examines the limits of phenomena, one will find that their nature is not even established as mere illusion. So, one might think, is it not existent, but is it non-existent? If so, If existence is not established, then whose non-existence is it? Because these non-existences are relative to existence, therefore non-existence does not exist either. If one thinks that it is not a negation of existence, but a complete non-existence, then even for what is unborn by nature or completely non-existent, there is no way to apply any designation. Because for what is unseen and unheard, and in which nothing can abide, no one thinks of it as non-existent, does not think, and does not speak. As mentioned above, since there are no limits, then who has a middle? Since there is no middle, there is no abiding in the middle either. Secondly, equality of conduct: For any dharma, even if one possesses all the desirable qualities of the world and becomes a perfectly sovereign ruler, one is not defiled like a lotus, and one does not abandon all desirable qualities. The reason is that one sees all faults and virtues as truly equal, without making distinctions, and abides in equality. If sentient beings themselves do not exist, then who is deluded? Therefore, to think that the dharma without delusion is delusion, that is the real delusion. Therefore, one should know that the teachings of the six non-Buddhist teachers, as well as the afflictions such as killing and the works of demons, are unattainable and cannot be abandoned, therefore one neither abandons them nor thinks of them as evil. What about the conduct of wisdom and means? Because its nature is unattainable and does not abide, it is no different from the conduct of demons, and one acts equally. Abandoning all views: The attachment arises from thinking 'to hold views about the true meaning', and one thinks 'one's own wisdom is the realization of truth'.

If one becomes attached to the view of 'I am superior to all,' arrogance arises. If one becomes attached to one's own view, attachment arises, and hatred arises towards other views, leading to disputes. This is the root of ignorance. Because there is no such thing as 'truth,' holding one's own view as truth and other views as false are both thoughts that are inconsistent with reality. Therefore, one cannot truly see the reality where neither truth nor falsehood can be found. Third, summarizing the essence and explaining the Bodhicitta: As long as there is wavering of the mind regarding 'existence' or 'non-existence,' 'truth' or 'falsehood,' 'appearance' or 'non-appearance' of the world, that is the realm of Mara (demon), which is a subtle path difficult to realize. Then, how can one remain unmoving? Even the mere concept of 'moving' or 'not moving' does not exist in that state where one does not even abide. Therefore, let alone abiding in 'not moving.' Thus, not clinging to the experience of feeling and the cessation of feeling, and the appearance grasped by the notion of 'is' or 'is not,' is the path of non-abiding Middle Way. By thinking in this way, one attains unsurpassed Bodhi, hence it is called 'Bodhicitta,' as spoken by the Thus-Gone One. The seventh general topic: Having thus determined, there are two parts to meditating on the definitive meaning: showing the opposing factors of meditation, and showing the antidote to that, which is to explain the meaning of meditation without error. The first part is: meditating on non-conceptualization, which means there is no acceptance or rejection. Its opposing factors are clinging to forms and so on, signs, and aspirations. The second part is: as an antidote, meditating on emptiness and the three doors to liberation also falls into the extreme of acceptance and rejection, therefore it is the work of Mara. Because form itself is emptiness, sign itself is signlessness, aspiration itself is aspirationlessness, they are not separate. Abandoning the three poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance, which cause the accomplishment of samsara, and meditating on the path of liberation from suffering, which is the path of nirvana, is also the work of Mara. Because acting in this way is not realizing self-nature as inherently peaceful or self-nature as peace. In terms of the reality or self-nature of all phenomena, seeking nirvana and abandoning the path of samsara are both impossible to accomplish or abide in. The realm seen by the noble ones and the place of accomplishment are not separate and unmixed on the other side of abandoning samsara. The path to obtaining the qualities of nirvana and so on is also here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
