In the teachings of the Earth, these five are in order: the liver is like a snake, the liver is like a turtle, the lungs are like a goose, the heart is like the daughter of Rakshasa wearing a white skirt, and the kidneys are like the shape of a bow, hence the naming. As it is said in the Prophecy of Intentions Sutra: "Life and downward clearing, upward movement, pervasive and peaceful abiding are spoken of, dragon and turtle goose, Rakshasa and victory from the bow." Thus it is said. Second, the place of dwelling: the life-air dwells in the heart, the downward clearing in the genitals, the fire-level in the navel, the upward movement in the throat, and the pervasive dwells in all joints. The five limb-airs dwell in the five sense gates, such as the eyes, in order. In the Condensed Conduct Sutra it says: The five airs dwell in the parts of the body and perform all the actions of the body. The five airs dwell in the sense bases such as the eyes and perform the actions of the senses. Among them, the air called life dwells in the heart, which is the Tathagata Akshobhya. The downward clearing air dwells in the genitals, which is the Tathagata Ratnasambhava. The upward moving air dwells in the throat, which is the Tathagata Amitabha. The fire and equal dwelling in the navel, the one who dwells is the Tathagata Amoghasiddhi. The pervasive dwelling in all joints is the Tathagata Vairochana. The moving air is form, the transforming moving is sound, the extremely moving is smell, the most moving is taste, the definitely moving is touch, thus it is said. Third, the order of air formation is: in ten months, in the first month, in the center of the sperm and blood, the heart's pulse knot is formed, from which the innate air arises, the life-sustaining air that moves in the nostrils. Those two are also life-sustaining air. The body of that sentient being becomes like the shape of a fish. From the life-air, in the second month, the downward clearing air arises, and five protrusions including the four limbs and the head arise, and the body becomes the shape of a turtle. From that, in the third month, the fire-level air arises, and the five limbs are complete and slightly curved, becoming the shape of a wild boar. From that, in the fourth month, the upward moving air arises, and the upper body slightly expands.

Therefore, it will transform into the form of a lion. From that, in the fifth month, the pervasive wind arises. In the sixth month, the wind that travels through the gate of the eyes produces dragons and earth. In the seventh month, the wind that travels through the ears produces turtles and water. In the eighth month, the wind that travels through the nose produces mosquitoes and fire. In the ninth month, the wind that travels through the tongue produces givers and wind. In the tenth month, the wind that travels from the complete senses of the body produces the victor of the bow and the realm of space. It is said that the cavities of the body arise and each holds its respective objects. Fourth, the function of the winds is: the life-sustaining wind maintains life and the wind that travels through the nose functions. The downward-clearing wind performs the function of excreting urine and feces downwards. The equally dwelling wind performs the function of distributing essence throughout the body. The one that separates essence and waste is the fierce fire of the navel. The upward-moving wind tastes food, and speaks, etc., and the other winds also perform the function of moving upwards. The pervasive wind performs the function of pervading the other winds within the body and walking, etc. The five branch winds, the wind that travels through the gate of the eyes, using consciousness as a vehicle, produces the fruit of grasping form. Similarly, the pervasive grasps sound, the correct grasps smell, the superior grasps taste, and the definite grasps touch, each using its own consciousness as a vehicle, and produces fruit in its respective object. The five branch winds are the state of the root wind, and the reason for naming them as such is because the life wind travels in those gates. The constant function of the sense gates is: Life and diligence move, The one who moves constantly, Is said to be life. Wind and urine and feces, Likewise also semen, etc., The downward puller is the downward clearer, The yogi should always know. Tasting and eating and licking, And all drinking and sucking, Whoever is always equally dwelling, Is called equally dwelling. Moving upwards and gathering, Eating and tasting, etc., consuming, Those who join together with knowledge, Should be known as the work of the upward-moving. Pervading and holding oneself, And walking and returning, etc., The one who pervades all the joints, Is called pervasive.
