Therefore. Thus it is said, in the commentary on the Treasury of Knowledge: Others say that it is because of completely liberating from suffering by means of the path that focuses on conditioned and unconditioned phenomena. Thus they say. This is not reasonable, because it is too extreme. Therefore it appears. Thus it appears. If asked, which of the two types of nirvana is the liberation from suffering of these? Some believe that liberation immediately after birth is nirvana without remainder. This is not reasonable, because liberation after birth is not death if life is not exhausted, and since liberation from suffering is manifested immediately after birth, it is therefore not death immediately after birth. Therefore, if one dies before the end of life, one must have the power to abandon life, but one does not, because the power to abandon life is due to the power of the ultimate samadhi, and that is only available to the male and female bases of Jambudvipa. Therefore, liberation after birth is nirvana with remainder, and liberation in the bardo is without remainder. So, is there no power to abandon life even in liberation in the bardo? It is true, but death in the bardo is only death before the end of life, because the bardo existence and the birth existence are thrown by one karma. Therefore, liberation in the bardo is liberation without remainder because the aggregates of life are abandoned immediately after all defilements have been abandoned, and those who are reborn in the place of birth are those who have first attained the remainder of having abandoned all defilements, and when their life ends, it is liberation without remainder. As it is said, in the commentary on the Treasury of Knowledge: Liberation from suffering completely after birth is not dying immediately after birth, but liberation from suffering completely with the remainder of the aggregates, because diligence and the path arise naturally. Others say that it is also because there is no remainder of the aggregates. Thus they say. It is not, because there is no power to abandon life. As it is said. What is the transference above? It refers to approaching form, that is, on the basis of the first birth in the form realm, one does not attain nirvana but is transferred upwards and liberated, as it is said, in the commentary on the Treasury of Knowledge: Going upwards means that one does not completely liberate from suffering in the place where one is born, but goes upwards

This is what was said. In the realm of form, the ultimate destination is Akanistha Non-small), because the ultimate progression in the formless realm is the Peak of Existence. There are two types of upward transfer: reaching the end of Akanistha and reaching the end of the Peak of Existence. What is it to reach the end of Akanistha? It is the upward transfer of beings who are qualified to attain Nirvana on the basis of Akanistha. This is further divided into three types: leaping, half-leaping, and dying and transferring in all places and leaping. What is leaping? It is the being who reaches the end of Akanistha, who is born in the Brahma host and abandons all other intermediate places, and is qualified to be liberated on the basis of Akanistha. What is half-leaping? It is the being who reaches the end of Akanistha, who is born in the Brahma host, then dies and transfers, abandoning all intermediate places, and is born in any of the first three Pure Abodes, and then also abandons the intermediate places, and is qualified to attain liberation in Akanistha. What is leaping in all places? It is the being who reaches the end of Akanistha, who, except for the Great Brahma, passes through all other places and is qualified to attain liberation on the basis of Akanistha. As it is said in the Commentary on the Treasury of Knowledge: "Among them, what is called leaping is that here, having cultivated the meditations, having tasted the flavor of the first meditation, having completely fallen away from the three meditations, having been born among the Brahma hosts, due to the power of previous habit, having cultivated the fourth meditation, and then having died and transferred, being born among the Akanisthas, that is, not going in between, so it is called leaping. What is called half-leaping is that from there, having been born in the Pure Abodes, and having also crossed over some other places in between, then entering Akanistha. The noble ones are not born among the Great Brahmas, because that is the place of viewing, and because there is only one lord. Dying and transferring in all places is transferring to all other places and then entering Akanistha." This is what was said. Here, through the three leaps, first, in order to be born in the desired basis, the Pure Abodes, one cultivates the fourth meditation alternately, and if one does not fall away from it, then from here, dying and transferring, one will only be born in the Pure Abodes, but due to craving the absorption of the first meditation, having tasted its flavor, through this power, meditation.
