In short, there are ten kinds of pervading objects. Among them, the object of the pervading wind is both the sense base of form and touch. The object of the other seven pervading objects with form is the sense base of form, according to the commentary of the Abhidharmakosa. The object of the last two is the four aggregates of its own realm, according to the root verses and commentary of that treatise. Third, as the Abhidharmakosa says, "Ten pervading objects, eight do not deviate, the realm of practice is at the edge of dhyana, the two of the desire realm are formless." Thus, the first eight are based on the fourth dhyana, and the last two are based on the first two formless realms. The higher Abhidharma must also be considered in this way. According to Nyisnang, it is based on all four dhyanas. The fourth aspect has two parts: the way to accomplish it by practicing before, and the way to practice it without practicing. The first is that by practicing before, one can make that samadhi clear by just seeing the respective objects slightly. For example, in rivers and so on, just by seeing the water, one can generate the samadhi of pervading water without effort. Similarly, in places where forest fires are burning and smoke is billowing, and in places where light is moved by the wind and the leaves of vines and so on, the wind is flowing everywhere in this place. Just by looking around, and laying out blue flowers, jewels, clothes, etc., and those things that have become yellow, red, and white, and the silver moon wheel in the night sky, etc., and in the window, moonlight and sunlight shine through the gaps in the leaves of the trees, seeing the spots of light that appear on the ground, and when seeing the windows and holes in the walls, the samadhi of pervading fire and so on will appear in order. The second aspect has two parts: relying on the object, and the way to focus one's mind on it. The first is that without distinguishing between colors such as blue, the pure and stainless water falling from the sky, dripping from a completely clean water filter, filling any container such as a begging bowl with it, and cutting oily and pithy wood into pieces, piling them up in a suitable place such as by a tree or in a guest room, surrounding it with walls, making a hole about a span and four fingers high on it, igniting it, with wood below, smoke above, and fire in the middle, and which direction of the branch is touched by the wind

If there are printed windows and holes in the walls, do it that way. For stretching a blue cloth like the surface of a large drum, make movable and immovable mandalas with any color such as laksha (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning), blue palasha (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning), and blue eye medicine, and distinguish its edges with different colors. The same goes for yellow, red, and white, except that yellow, etc., are placed in the place of blue, which is the difference. It is also said in the Vinaya Sutra: In order to manifest the signs of decay, the walls of the dwelling should be made in four colors, such as blue. Light a butter lamp inside a vase, seal the mouth, and make a small hole, not too big, so that its light creates a manifested mandala on the wall, which lasts for a long time. On a wall covered with cloth or felt, make a hole about a span high and four fingers wide, and make it an object of observation. These are the objects of focus for the decay of water, etc. The second is: In a place where these objects of focus are seen, sit comfortably on a cushion in accordance with your mind, and focus only on the names of the ten, such as earth, earth, water, water, and practice repeatedly. The fifth has two parts: the characteristics of the signs of non-achievement, and the way to explain the manifestation of the signs of achievement. The first is: like the appearance of flowing water mixed with foam and hail, the flame flickering and falling, and the ashes and coal remaining slightly, like the steam rising from boiled milk just taken off the heat, like a flower without stamens and stems, because the stamens, stems, and petals, etc., are made of different things. The same goes for the three colors, yellow, etc. Like a mandala of light growing on the ground or on a wall, it appears only on certain objects, and like holes in the corners of walls, etc., it appears, but even with effort, it cannot be made to grow. These are the signs of non-achievement of the nine, such as water. It is said that these appear in all nine of the practiced and unpracticed, that is, they appear in both cases of having practiced before and not having practiced. However, for those who are already accustomed to it, this is not a fault, because the sutra says that if it is not produced from sunlight, it will be considered a fault of decay. The second is: the jewel wind banner and the nature of the jewel located in the sky.
