Pages 501 to 603. Pages 501 to 603. In the Ratnavali, it says: "The Form Body of the Buddhas arises from the accumulation of merit; the Dharma Body, in brief, arises from the accumulation of wisdom." Also, in the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning, it says: "By this virtue, may all beings accumulate the accumulations of merit and wisdom, and may they attain the two supreme bodies that arise from merit and wisdom." Thus, it is summarized into the two, the Form Body and the Dharma Body. Similarly, in the Uttaratantra, it also says: "The Body of Ultimate Meaning for one's own benefit, and the Body of Conventional Truth that depends on it." Thus, the Essence Body is shown as the Body of Ultimate Meaning for one's own benefit, and the Enjoyment Body and Emanation Body are shown as the Body of Conventional Truth for the benefit of others. Second, in the Ornament of the Sutras, it says: "It should be known that the body of the Buddha is condensed by the three bodies; the three bodies also show this meaning of self and other, together with the basis." Thus, it is said that the Enjoyment Body is for one's own benefit, the Emanation Body is for the benefit of others, and the Essence Body is the basis of the two. Also, in the Uttaratantra, it also says: "That distinction and vastness, and the qualities of the great essence, with the Dharma well divided, the self-nature, etc., are entered by the three bodies." Also, the noble Nagarjuna, having summarized the three bodies of Dharma, Enjoyment, and Emanation, made praises to the three bodies, and so on. Third, in the Clear Words, it says: "Also, some consider the Complete Enjoyment Body to be the path of manifestation only for the Bodhisattvas of the tenth bhumi who have manifestly attained complete enlightenment, the Great Complete Enjoyment Body, which is the basis of the wisdoms as spoken of, and the path of manifestation abiding in the Joyful Land, etc., which is the Emanation Body named Complete Enjoyment Body, and the Emanation Body, thus considering there to be five bodies. Others show the five bodies by distinguishing the Emanation Body into those that are the result of maturation and those that are not the result of maturation." And so on. Also, the Praise to the Names says: "Possessing the nature of the five bodies of the Buddha." What is said is also reasonable, because the difference of the Emanation Body is the body of maturation. Also, the teacher Jampal Drakpa said that the Essence Body, the Dharma Body, and the Wisdom Body, that is, the three differences of the Dharma Body, and the Enjoyment

I say the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya, just as Acharya Shantikara Vajra said, the Svabhavikakaya, Sambhogakaya, Vipakakaya, Nirmanakaya, and Dharmakaya. The fourth (kaya) has three (parts): asserting four kayas, refuting that assertion, and examining the valid aspect. The first (part): In the Ornament for Clear Realization and these two commentaries, the Rupakaya is divided into two, and the Svabhavikakaya and Jnana Dharmakaya are separate, thus making four kayas. Regarding this meaning, some say in the Clear Words that the Acharya has shown three kayas in other texts, so he asserts that way, but here he mainly adopts the instructions of Khenpo Yangdak Namsnangdze, so he explains his assertion. Below, there is no refutation of the system of showing the number of kayas as different, so there is no reason to determine it that way. The Acharya has clearly stated that there is no fault even if the kaya relics are placed. This is not in accordance with the views of the two major and minor commentaries, even though the phrase "others say" does not appear in the context of arguing about the number of kayas, but also because there are four forms due to the distinctions of the Svabhavikakaya, etc., so in his own system, he first explains the first kaya, then the second kaya, the Dharmakaya, thus forming four kayas. Some quote from the Ornament for Clear Realization: From the explanation of the Mother Tantra, from the seeds of virtue I have obtained, may I surely obtain the three kayas that are supreme in all forms. And, from the same text, it says, "After explaining the three kayas that are thus properly conceived," so they think he asserts three kayas. In general, the Acharya in the Eight Thousand Verses makes the Svabhavikakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya into three kayas, in accordance with the Aryas. However, the two commentaries do not assert that, so what is said in the Ornament for Clear Realization refers to the three kayas of Dharma, Sambhoga, and Nirmana, and "explaining the three kayas" refers to the three kayas of the subject, that is, the remaining three kayas. Therefore, the Acharya certainly asserts the three kayas of Dharma, Sambhoga, and Nirmana, but he does not assert the determination of the three numbers of Svabhavikakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya. He thinks that the mind and mental factors of the Buddha-field are not those kayas. Thus, the assertions of the Clear Words and the Difficult to Understand have been explained, and Simhavyaghra and Buddhajnanapada also explained four kayas.
